Traverse winding apparatus

An improved winding apparatus and system for winding strips of web materials.

Low tension application coiler

The present invention is an apparatus, system and method for a low tension application spooler and or coiler system that positively drives the material into the coil and or reel so that the tension is minimum during the winding process.

Cable storage spool with center feed
10625978 · 2020-04-21 · ·

A telecommunications cable spool for storing, paying-out, and reeling-in a telecommunications cable includes a spool, an axis of rotation, and a rotatable cable guide mounted about the axis. The spool defines a wrapping area that receives a plurality of wraps of the cable and defines a circumference. The axis passes through the spool within the circumference. The guide defines a rotating cable guide path with a first end adjacent the wrapping area and a second end positioned near the axis. The first end of the path is oriented at least partially tangential to the circumference, and the second end of the path is oriented at least partially aligned with the axis. The cable is routed along a cable route that extends between first and second ends with a storage portion between the ends of the route. The route includes a transitional portion along the guide path between the storage portion and the second end of the route. A portion of the transitional portion is routed through a center of the storage portion. A deployed portion of the cable is paid-out from the second end of the cable route.

APPARATUS FOR WINDING AND PULLING A ROPE LINE AT CONSTANT SPEED
20240025696 · 2024-01-25 ·

A rope pulling apparatus including a drum for having rope wound therearound and a drive apparatus for providing power to the rope pulling apparatus and driving the drum's rotations. The rope pulling apparatus also includes a speed control apparatus monitoring the rope being pulled and wound on the drum and a controller for determining the speed of the rope and adjusting the drive apparatus to speed up or slow down the rotation of the drum responsive to the speed of the rope. A method of winding rope on a drum at a constant rope speed. The method includes winding a rope at a desired constant rope speed onto a drum with a rope pulling apparatus and determining a speed of the rope. The method also includes adjusting power of the rope pulling apparatus to achieve the desired constant speed.

Cable coiling system

A cable coiling system for coiling a cable into a cable coil includes a reel rotatable around a central axis of the reel, a gripper configured to grip a starting end of the cable, and a slide rail extending in a direction perpendicular to the central axis of the reel. The cable is coilable around the reel to form the cable coil by rotating the reel in a state in which the gripper is coupled onto the reel and grips the starting end of the cable. The reel is slidably mounted on the slide rail. A length of the starting end of the cable coiled around the reel is adjustable by moving the reel along the slide rail and rotating the reel around the central axis in a state in which the gripper is separated from the reel and fixed at a predetermined position.

Method for implementing a correct winding of a wire on a spool

A method for implementing a correct winding of a wire on a spool. The method is characterized in that it comprises a step for calculating the angular speed of a motor displacing a wire dispensing device according to the wire winding pitch and according to the pulling error, detected in relation to a given pre-set set-point and to a tolerance value, in order to determine the presence of a possible valley error, or of a possible peak error. Furthermore, if during the spool winding a valley error or a peak error is detected, the control device decides whether to slow down or to increase the speed of the wire dispensing device with the aim of filling the valley or of skipping the peak.

Filament count reduction for carbon fiber tow
10570536 · 2020-02-25 · ·

A process and apparatus for separating a carbon filament tow into a set of reduced filament count bundles. The process includes feeding a tow of carbon filaments into a guide array, mechanically splitting the tow within the guide array into filament bundles, removing a coating from the filament bundles, feeding the filament bundles into a guide pin assembly to separate the filament bundles with a reduced filament count from one another, applying a false twist to the filament bundles to loosen individual filaments then recombining the individual filaments of each filament bundle into a re-bundled ribbon. Coatings may be applied to each re-bundled ribbon prior to winding each re-bundled ribbon onto a take-up.

Management method for a coiler apparatus and corresponding device

Method and device to manage a coiler apparatus associated with a distributor, in which there is at least an exit of the feeder of hot or cold semi-worked metal products, and with a reel, both being respectively moved with suitable controlled movement and rotation means, able to manage the coiling obtaining coils with desired characteristics.

WINDING UNIT AND SPIRAL ELECTRIC WIRE MANUFACTURING METHOD
20200002119 · 2020-01-02 · ·

A winding device capable of easily winding an electric wire and a method of manufacturing a spiral electric wire are provided. The electric wire delivered by the delivery device is guided by the guide device toward the center portion of the projecting portion. The projecting portion of the winding device has an inclined surface whose outer diameter increases toward the base portion from the tip end on its outer peripheral surface. As a result, the electric wire can be wound around the projecting portion by utilizing the force of the delivery device, and the electric wire can be easily wound up.
