High speed winch rewind adapter
10280037 · 2019-05-07 ·

This disclosure describes a high speed winch rewind adapter for quickly rewinding a loading strap. In one implementation, the adapter includes a body having a volume sized to at least partially surround an annular end of the winch. The annular end is coupled with a ratchet mechanism of the winch and having at least one hole for receiving a winch bar. A drive connector is positioned both within the volume of the body and external to the volume of the body, the drive connector external to the volume of the body having an external profile to receive a torque, and the drive connector within the volume of the body insertable into the annular end of the winch for alignment to the axis of rotation. A coupling mechanism synchronizes the drive connector to the annular end such that both the drive connector and the annular end rotate simultaneously.

Strap winder

A compact, portable strap winder includes a housing, a shaft having an outer reel section rotatable in the housing, a positioner for controlling movement of the shaft in the housing, whereby the reel section extends out of the housing for receiving a strap or the shaft is releasably stored in the housing. A handle is provided on the outer end of the shaft for rotating the shaft. The handle can be removed from the shaft and stored in a pocket in the housing.

UNIVERSAL WINDING MACHINE FOR A MULTITUDE OF TRAY DESIGNS

A machine for winding suture into a suture tray package includes a base platform with package nests, each nest including upwardly-extending locating pins. A workstation places an empty tray onto one nest. Another workstation feeds a needle with attached suture in the tray and parks the needle in the tray. A winding station for winding the suture into a tray winding channel includes a rotatable winding head with configurable suture guiding pins, a stripper plate pushing the wound suture off the guiding pins, a suture control arm with proximal and distal ends and top and bottom sides, the distal end having a front standoff and a rear standoff incorporating a suture guiding channel, and a base member mounting the arm to base platform. A lid placement station places a lid onto a nest, a lid attachment station attaches lid to tray and an offloading station removes trays from nests.

Winder for a Band Shaped Element
20180370417 · 2018-12-27 ·

A winder is for a band-shaped element. A stator includes an end wall, which forms a first side support for the band-shaped element, and a band guide arranged perpendicularly to the end wall. A rotor comprises an end cover which forms a second side support for the band-shaped element. A reel boss is arranged perpendicularly on the end cover and provided with an engagement portion for receiving an end portion of the band-shaped element. A cranking handle projects from the end cover at a distance from the center axis of the reel boss. The stator includes at least one spacer element which supportingly abuts by an end face against a rim portion of the end cover of the rotor, and the stator and the rotor comprise complementary radial-guide means arranged to center the rotor on the stator.

WINDING DEVICE AND PRINT WINDING SYSTEM
20180354735 · 2018-12-13 · ·

A winding device includes a winding shaft that rotates and winds a print medium conveyed from a printing device having a conveyance roller that conveys the print medium, a gear, and a motor driving the conveyance roller and the gear. The winding device also includes a power transfer mechanism to connect to the gear and transfer power to the motor, and a lever disposed between the winding shaft and the conveyance roller in a conveyance path in a configuration in which the winding device is connected to the printing device. The lever may be moved between a first position in which the print medium bends and a second position in which the print medium bends at a shallower angle than at the first position.

Method and apparatus for winding straps
10124713 · 2018-11-13 ·

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for winding cargo straps. The apparatus comprises a base, connectors adapted to secure the base to a portion of a vehicle and a motor supported from the base. The apparatus further comprises a shaft extending from and rotated by the motor, the shaft having a plurality of mounting locations therealong, a guide flange secured around the shaft at one of the plurality of mounting locations and a guide cap secured to a distal end of the shaft. The method comprises securing the base to a vehicle, locating a guide flange at one of the plurality of mounting locations, securing a distal end of the strap to the shaft, locating the guide cap to the distal end of the shaft and actuating the motor to rotate the shaft thereby winding the strap thereon.

DUNNAGE SYSTEM AND METHOD USING A COIL ACCUMULATOR
20180304571 · 2018-10-25 ·

A dunnage production system for producing coiled strips of dunnage includes a supply of strip-like dunnage, a coiler adjacent the supply and rotatable about a coiling axis for coiling a strip of the strip-like dunnage into a coil having a coiled configuration, and a tube aligned with the coiling axis. The tube has an internal diameter sized to receive the coil from the coiler in a discharge direction parallel to the coiling axis. The tube is capable of holding at least one coil in its coiled configuration until it is removed from the tube.

BOBBIN AND BOBBINLESS TRANSPORT METHOD

A linear body that may be smoothly removed from a bobbin. The bobbin includes a guide tube, a pair of flanges provided on the ends of the guide tube, and a winding drum sandwiched between the pair of flanges. One flange is removably attached to one end of the guide tube and the other flange is fixedly secured to the other end of said guide tube. The winding drum includes a plurality of split drum plates separated by a plurality of slits. A biasing mechanism for biasing each split drum plate inwardly is provided. When the detachable flange has been attached, the split drum plates are supported at both ends from the inner side thereof by supporting projections on the inner surface of each of the flanges. When the detachable flange is removed, the split drum plates move inwardly owing to the respective biasing mechanisms.
