CORELESS WOUND COIL DISPENSER WITH OPTIONAL CABLE STORAGE FOR AN OPTICAL TERMINAL NETWORK

Packaged dispensers mountable to optical network terminals (ONT) are disclosed. In some examples, the dispensers include coreless wound coils and excess storage areas. Additionally, fiber optic cable distribution systems and methods thereof utilizing the disclosed coreless wound coils are further disclosed. In one example, a length of telecommunications cable is wound into a coreless coil that includes a plurality of winding separators at least partially embedded within the coil, wherein the length of telecommunications cable alternately passes on one of the first and second sides of one winding separator and on the other of the first and second sides of an adjacent winding separator. In one example, an initially cylindrically shaped coreless wound coil, with or without winding separators, can be placed into a non-round package in which the wound coil is deformed and compressed by the sidewalls of the package such that the coreless wound coil conforms to the interior perimeter of the package to have a non-cylindrical shape.

Consumable assembly with payout tube for additive manufacturing system

A payout tube for enabling payout of a consumable filament from a consumable assembly that is configured for use with an additive manufacturing system, the payout tube comprising a tip end having an inlet opening, a base end having an outlet opening, and a tube body having an average effective outer diameter that is substantially greater than an effective inner diameter of the inlet opening.

Apparatus and Methods for Winding Coil

Systems and methods for winding wire are disclosed. A system includes a wire take-up unit and a wire tensioning unit. The take-up unit includes a rotating mandrel and a wire directing device, the wire directing device arranged to cause the wire to be wound in a figure-eight configuration on the rotating mandrel to form a coil having many layers of wire. The wire tensioning unit applies tension to said wire as it is wound, and applies a first amount of tension to a predetermined amount of wire constituting at least a first two layers of the coil, and a second amount of tension to the wire beyond the predetermined amount. In one embodiment, the wire tensioning unit includes digital self-relieving air regulator pneumatically coupled to and controlling a pressure in said pressurized chamber of a pre-lubricating cylinder that is coupled to the wire being wound.

Coil package payout tube assembly

A payout tube assembly is provided for unwinding filamentary material from a wound coil of filamentary material contained in a container having a wall panel with a hole that aligns with the payout tube assembly. The payout tube assembly includes a payout tube. The assembly also includes a generally planar payout panel affixed to the payout tube. The payout panel defines a central opening through which one end of the payout tube is received. In one embodiment, the payout panel defines a first set of arcuate slits and a second set of arcuate slits extending about the axis of the payout tube, the first and second sets of arcuate slits spaced radially and circumferentially from each other. In one embodiment, the payout panel defines radial slits extending from the central opening and defining payout panel fingers that are glued to the payout tube.

High speed winding machine with angular rotary spindle, and a method for using the same

The present invention relates generally to a high speed winding machine with angular rotary spindle, and a method for using the same. The present invention also relates generally to winding machines for winding a cable, and more particularly winding wire at higher speeds without the use, for example, of a reciprocating traverse. The high speed winding machine, primarily comprises of four major systems, namely, a frame assembly, a rotating traverse assembly, an angular spindle assembly, and a spindle drive motor assembly, having a spindle indexing system. A method of winding a wire or cable in a figure-8 pattern upon a mandrel by rotating the mandrel and winding the wire or cable thereon is also disclosed.

Method for packing cable

Provided is a method for packing a cable having a static friction coefficient of 0.15 or more and 0.50 or less, a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.10 or more and 0.40 or less and a bending rigidity of 60 gf or more and 350 gf or less. The method includes the steps of: (1) winding the cable into a figure-of-eight shape to form a cylindrical cable bundle, (2) winding a wrapping film as a restraining member, which restrains the cable bundle, around an outer circumferential portion of the cable bundle, (3) winding a wrapping film as a closing member which closes openings on both ends of the cable bundle, and (4) housing the cable bundle being wound with the restraining member and the closing member in a housing container.

PACKAGING FOR WOUND COIL

A packaged wound coil assembly includes a coil of wire, a payout tube, two flat panels on either side of the coil of wire, and a retainer to secure the flat panels relative to the coil assembly. The package assembly uses significantly less materials than prior packages and as assembled can assume less overall space than prior packages for similar wire coils.

APPARATUS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR WINDING COILS OF FLEXIBLE MATERIAL

Apparatus and methods for winding flexible material include a rotatable plate assembly rotatably driven by a first rotary shaft, the assembly supporting second and third rotary shafts with corresponding first and second mandrel parts mounted thereon. The first and second mandrel parts each form at least part of a winding spool. The second and third rotary shafts have rotational axes that are parallel to one another and parallel to, but laterally offset from, the rotational axis of the first rotary shaft. The rotation of the plate assembly is coordinated with counter rotation of the first and second mandrel parts. In embodiments, such coordinated rotation occurs during transition operations performed between winding operations that employ the first and second mandrel parts in an ordered sequence one after the other. The flexible material can be cable, wire, tubing, hose, rope, or other filamentary material. Other aspects are described and claimed.
