Nordic walking/running/exercise pole
The invention is directed to a Nordic walking/running/exercise pole, which is equipped with a handle flexing towards the pole shaft.
Cross-country ski pole handle
The invention relates to a pole handle (1), in particular for trekking poles, Nordic walking poles, Alpine ski poles, or cross-country ski poles, comprising a handle head (2), a handle body (3), and a hook-like device (4) for securing a handling device. A movable, pivotal, or rotatable latching means (5) is arranged in the region of the hook-like device such that a loop-, ring-, or eye-shaped device, which is provided on the handling device and inserted into the hook-like device substantially from above, is fixed in the hook-like device in a self-latching manner. The latching means is designed in the form of a retaining lug which defines a constrained region (7) for the loop-, ring-, or eye-shaped device towards the bottom in the braced position. Additionally, a recess (8) is provided in the handle head and/or handle body from above, wherein a movably and/or rotatably mounted securing block (9) on or in which the engaging means is arranged is arranged in the recess.
Pole Grip
A trekking pole or the like includes a grip top fixed at the top end. A user's glove supports a puck. The puck is placed on a release button then slid into a locking channel on the grip top, from the release button into the locking channel. Thereafter, the release button automatically locks the puck in the channel. When the release button is pressed down, the puck can be removed. A magnet on the release button can assist in locating the puck properly on the release button and also in withdrawing the puck from the locking channel.
Handles for poles and sticks
A handle 10 for a pole that houses within its body 12 a power means housing 20, the housing 20 having an electrical power storage means 50 where a device can be connected to the handle 10 and supplied with electrical energy from the storage means 50. Due to increased demands of portable electricity, during outdoor activities, the handle 10 allows a means to easily carry and supply electricity for devices.
Adjustable grip system for trekking poles and the like
An adjustable grip system configured for attachment to a pole which is intended for recreational or ambulatory use. The adjustable grip system provides adjustability of a grip in relation to longitudinal axis wherein the grip is adjustable in up to 3-degrees of freedom in relation to the pole portion and affixable in place once adjusted to the desired configuration.
BREAKAWAY POLE STRAP
A break-away wrist strap for a ski pole or the like. The wrist strap is comprised of a strap or cord material with a clip for attaching to the pole and a buckle for adjustment. The buckle allows adjustment of the size of a loop portion into which the user's hand is placed, and also allows adjustment of an extension portion which extends from the loop portion to the clip. The clip is configured to attach to a standard size pole below the main hand grip, and is designed to detach from the pole when a tensile force above a threshold amount is applied. The break-away feature improves safety of the wrist strap, allows the wrist strap to be used with existing poles, and allows the wrist strap to be removed when not needed. A storage clip for stowing the wrist strap against the pole is also provided.
Ski pole with personal safety perimeter indicator
A novel perimeter indication rod assembly includes a perimeter indication rod for pivotal connection to a ski pole by a rod positioning mechanism. The rod positioning mechanism is configured to selectively hold the perimeter indication rod in extended or stowed position. The distal extent of the perimeter indication rod visually indicates a desired lateral safety distance from the skier.
Connection device
According to one aspect of the present invention there is provided an adjustable mechanism for connecting two or more shafts, including at least a first shaft having an external surface with an outer diameter and a second shaft which is hollow at a first end, wherein a spring is anchored to the first end of the second shaft, the spring having an inner diameter of similar dimensions to the outer diameter of the first shaft, the spring configured such that when a force is applied to the spring its inner diameter is greater than the outer diameter of the first shaft so that the second shaft can move over the first shaft to a desired position relative to the first shaft, and when the force is no longer applied to the spring it is biased to return to its original inner diameter to bear against the external surface of the first shaft.
Ski power measurement system
A system for measuring power generated by a skier is disclosed. The power generated by the skier may be calculated based upon each complete revolution of a ski pole or ski movement. To do so, the system may include various sensors that measure a force exerted on a ski pole or ski, the angle of the ski pole or ski, and the velocity of the skier at various time instants within each ski pole or ski revolution. A processing unit may calculate power generated by the skier in the skier's direction of travel using the force exerted in the skier's direction of travel during a complete revolution of ski pole (or ski) movement and the velocity of the skier.
Ski pole basket and ski pole and methods of use thereof
A ski pole basket, typically made of a polymeric material, that includes at least one generally rigid portion with a specifically shaped perimeter/interface configured to interface with the heel lip of a ski boot is described. When the basket is attached to a ski pole, a skier can use the pole to press down on the ski boot while he/she removes his/her foot from the boot while in a substantially erect standing position.
