Systems, methods, and computer readable media for sheet registration in a tractorless sheet processing device using at least one existing sheet feature
Systems, methods, and computer readable media for sheet registration in a tractorless sheet processing device using existing sheet features are disclosed herein. In some aspects, the systems can include a tractorless sheet processing device having a cutter for cutting individual sheets from continuous form material and a cutter feeder for feeding the continuous form material to the cutter. The systems can also include a camera disposed relative to the cutter feeder and configured to capture an image of a position of at least one existing sheet feature on at least one or more of the individual sheets of the continuous form material in order to synchronously register each of the individual sheets with the cutter, and a controller including at least one hardware processor and memory, the controller being configured to interface with the camera and the tractorless sheet processing device.
PLUG-IN SOFTWARE PROGRAM, FUNCTION EXTENSION METHOD, AND FUNCTION EXTENSION DEVICE
A paper size that can be created using an application software program (hereinafter abbreviated as an application) operating on a computer often has a maximum value, and maximum values differ from application to application. Thus, in order to obtain a printout of a size larger than the maximum paper size of an application, cumbersome operations have been needed such as calculating a paper size (including an aspect ratio) while taking the maximum paper size of the application into consideration, setting the paper size in the application, and calculating and setting an enlargement ratio of a printer driver.
In the present invention, in a plug-in of a general-purpose application, a user is only required to specify the size of a printout to be output in order to calculate a paper size that has the same aspect ratio as an output size that is within the maximum paper size of the application and to set the paper size in the printer driver and the application. Thereby, the foregoing problems are overcome.

RECORDING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a plurality of feeding units each configured to feed a sheet, a conveyance unit configured to convey the sheet to this recording unit, a first detection unit provided on an upstream side of the recording unit in a direction in which the sheet is conveyed and configured to detect whether there is the sheet, a driving control unit configured to control driving of a motor for conveying a roll sheet fed from a roll sheet feeding unit, and a determination unit configured to determine the feeding unit that feeds the sheet to the recording unit. If the first detection unit detects that there is the sheet, the driving control unit drives the motor in a direction for rewinding the roll sheet, and the determination unit executes the determination processing for the feeding unit based on an output value associated with the driving of the motor.
Medium transport device
A medium transport device is provided. The medium transport device includes a transporting portion that transports a medium in a transport direction, a winding portion that winds the medium, and a friction member that suppresses displacement of the medium in a cross direction with the transport direction. The displacement in the cross direction is suppressed by causing the friction member to contact the medium. A contact state of the medium with the friction member is changed in accordance with a winding mode in which the medium transported by the transporting portion is wound around the winding portion, and a non-winding mode in which the medium transported by the transporting portion is not wound around the winding portion.
