A medium transport device includes a first roller 9, a second roller 11,a first rotation shaft 13 supporting the first roller, a displacement mechanism 15 configured to displace the first rotation shaft to a first position P1 where the first roller and the second roller are configured to nip the medium and to a second position P2 where both 9 and 11 are separated from each other, and a door 7 configured to rotate into an opened position and into a closed position around an axis that intersects the first rotation, wherein the door includes an acting section 17, the displacement mechanism includes an action receiving section 19, and when the door 7 rotates to the closed position and the acting section 17 no longer pushes the action receiving section 19, the displacement mechanism displaces the first rotation shaft 13 from the first position to the second position.

A sheet product dispenser for dispensing sheet product from a roll of sheet product is provided. An example sheet product dispenser includes a housing defining an interior space for receiving a first roll of sheet product (170a, 170b) therein, a mandrel (150a, 150b) positioned within the interior space, and a spindle (100) positioned over at least a portion of the mandrel and configured to support the first roll of sheet product for rotation about the mandrel. The spindle comprises abase portion (102) and a nose portion (104) configured to translate relative to one another along a longitudinal axis of the mandrel (150a, 150b). At least a portion of the spindle is configured to translate relative to the mandrel from a first configuration to a second configuration to cause a remainder of the first roll of sheet product (170a, 170b) to deform and enable movement of a dispensing door (186) to enable access to a second roll of sheet product.

A transportation portion includes an apparatus body, a cover, first and second path formation portions, and a movement portion. The apparatus body has a transportation path including a downward path and an upward path having portions located at the same level in the Z direction. The cover covers and uncovers the transportation path. The first path formation portion is movable to a first position and to a second position. The second path formation portion defines the upward path and defines the downward path with the first path formation portion. The movement portion moves the first path formation portion in response to opening or closing of the cover. The first path formation portion is positioned in a movement area during a closed state. The movement portion moves the first path formation portion to the second position when the cover is opened and to the first position when the cover is closed.

A recording apparatus includes: a recording unit that performs recording on a medium; a medium discharging section that discharges the medium on which recording has been performed; a medium receiving section that receives the medium discharged by the medium discharging section; a face-down discharge path that guides, to the medium discharge section, the recorded medium with a recorded side thereof facing downward; a document movement path that is provided at an upper part of a housing constituting an outer casing of the recording apparatus and along which a document moves; and a reading unit provided in the document movement path to read the document. The medium receiving section also serves as a support tray that supports the document to be inserted into the document movement path or the document exiting from the document movement path.

The printer comprises a support structure (2) which is fixed in use, and in which a receptacle (7) is formed for receiving a roll of paper tape (8), a cover (5) which is hinged to a rotation axis (x) substantially parallel to the unwinding axis of said roll (8), and which is oscillatable between a closed position and an open position in which it covers and uncovers said receptacle (7), respectively, a printing device (30) carried by the support structure (2), and a transport roller (32) for the paper tape unwound from said roll (8), cooperating with the printing device (30).

The cover (5) further comprises a control member (41) arranged on a flank of the cover (5) and operable manually to disable a latching system (33; 42, 42′) and unlock the cover (5) from the closed position. A control member (42, 42′) is connected to the operating element (41) that may be rotated according to the opening direction of the cover (5).

An image forming apparatus includes a first conveyance unit including an image forming unit to convey a sheet on which an image is formed, and a second conveyance unit including a cover movable between a close position and an open position, the second conveyance unit being movable between a first position where the sheet can be conveyed to the sheet conveyance path and a second position separated from the first position. The first conveyance unit includes a retaining portion to retain the cover at a predetermined position, wherein the cover does not interfere with the retaining portion when the second conveyance unit is positioned at the first position, and the cover is in contact with the retaining portion and retained at the open position in a condition where the second conveyance unit is positioned at the second position and the cover is moved from the close position to the open position.

An image forming apparatus has an apparatus main body, a sheet conveyance passage, a cover member, a conveyance unit, a sheet tray, a first sheet feeding portion, and a feed unit. The sheet conveyance passage is inside the apparatus main body. The conveyance unit is inside the cover member and is supported to be pivotable between an open position and a closed position. The first sheet feeding portion has a feed unit. The conveyance unit has a swing guide of which a lower end part is swingably supported on the apparatus main body and which, in the closed position, is located in a first position to face the feed unit and constitute part of the sheet conveyance passage and, in the open position, is located in a second position to be located away from the feed unit.

A conveyance device includes a locking mechanism for an access cover. The locking mechanism includes a cooperating lever and a locking shaft attached to the cooperating lever. The locking shaft is slidable in an axial direction thereof between a locking position where the locking shaft engages in a locking groove of the access cover and a second unlocking position located lateral o the locking groove. When in the second unlocking position, the locking shaft engages with an engaged portion provided at part of a housing or at a fixed frame attached to the housing to constrain the cooperating lever against downward movement of a distal end of the cooperating lever. The locking mechanism further includes an operating member coupled to the locking shaft and including a holding portion capable of being held from outside the housing.

A document feeder includes a device body, and an opening and closing cover which is provided to be openable and closable with respect to the device body, and including a paper feed roller and a paper feed roller drive shaft on the device body. The document feeder includes a guide member, which is mounted rotatably to the paper feed roller drive shaft on an outer side of the paper feed roller in a roller axis direction thereof. The guide member guides a document being conveyed, in a state where the opening and closing cover is closed, by being opposed to the paper feed roller drive shaft in a predetermined orientation.

A printing apparatus includes a stacking portion on which a print medium printed by a printing unit configured to perform printing is stacked, a discharge unit configured to discharge the print medium printed by the printing unit to the stacking portion, a passage forming portion arranged facing the stacking portion and configured to form a discharge passage of the print medium together with the stacking portion, and an outlet port located at a downstream end of the stacking portion and a downstream end of the passage forming portion in a conveying direction of the print medium. The passage forming portion includes an opening/closing portion which is displaceable between a closed position for forming the discharge passage and an open position for opening access to the stacking portion.
