A sheet conveyance apparatus includes first and second conveyance paths, a conveyance roller pair, first and second conveyance guides, and a holding unit. The reverse unit reverses a sheet having passed through the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path conveys the sheet having passed through the first conveyance path between the reverse unit and the first conveyance path. The conveyance roller pair nips and convey the reversed sheet. The first conveyance guide forms the second conveyance path and the second conveyance guide forms the second conveyance path. The holding unit moveably holds the first conveyance guide. The first conveyance guide moves between a first position located at a first distance from the second conveyance guide and a second position located at a second distance. The sheet reversed by the reverse unit is conveyed toward the conveyance roller pair by the first conveyance guide located at the first position.

A sheet processing apparatus includes a shift unit including a pair of first conveying rollers that nip and convey a sheet and being able to move in a width direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the sheet in a state of nipping the sheet; a drive gear configured to transmit a driving force from a drive motor; a rack gear including a rack portion that meshes with the drive gear, the rack gear being configured to receive the driving force from the drive gear via the rack portion and, thereby, move the shift unit in the width direction in a state of nipping the sheet with a pair of first conveying rollers; a guide member configured to guide movement of the shift unit in the width direction; and a supporting member configured to nip the rack gear between the supporting member and the drive gear and support the rack gear, in which the rack gear is rotatable with respect to the shift unit on a plane parallel to the conveyance direction and the width direction.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD

A printing apparatus that can improve usability includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium; a first stacking part configured to allow the print medium discharged in a first direction by the conveyance unit to be stacked thereon and to move in the first direction from an accommodated position; and a control unit configured to control stacking of the print medium on the first stacking part, wherein, in a state where the first stacking part is moved in the first direction from the accommodated position, the control unit executes a first operation for stacking the print medium at a first position on the first stacking part, and a second operation for stacking the print medium at a second position on the first stacking part, the second position being different from the first position in a second direction intersecting with the first direction.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND STACKING APPARATUS

There is provided a technique that can suppress upsizing of an apparatus while sorting print media every predetermined number of print media on a stacking portion. To do so, a reciprocating member that reciprocates while being regulated in an X direction orthogonal to a Y direction by a first supporting member is provided, and a second stacking portion extendable in the Y direction relative to the first supporting member is moved in the X direction by action of the reciprocating member.

A conveyance unit includes a feeding unit that feeds a medium from a roll, a conveyance roller pair that conveys the medium toward a printing unit, an intermediate roller pair that conveys, toward the conveyance roller pair, the medium fed by the feeding unit, a first driving unit that rotates a first driving roller, and a load changing unit that changes a pressing load acting between a second driving roller and a second driven roller. A control unit can execute a first control that controls the load changing unit such that the pressing load is a first pressing load when the first driving roller is rotated in an intermittent conveyance, and execute a second control that controls the load changing unit such that the pressing load is not generated when the rotation of the first driving roller is stopped in the intermittent conveyance.
