Sheet stacker, image forming apparatus, and sheet conveyance control method
A sheet stacker includes a sheet stack table on which a sheet is stacked and a sheet reversing section disposed above the sheet stack table. The sheet reversing section defines a sheet reverse passage to reverse a direction of conveyance of a sheet fed to the sheet reversing section. The sheet reversing section includes a first sheet guide to guide a bottom face of the sheet and a second sheet guide disposed downstream from the first sheet guide in a sheet conveyance direction in which the sheet is fed to the sheet reversing section. The second sheet guide to guide the bottom face of the sheet is attachable to and removable from an apparatus body.
Sheet conveying device and image forming system incorporating the sheet conveying device
A sheet conveying device includes a sheet stacker, an air blower, and a guide. The sheet stacker stacks sheets. The air blower blows air to the sheets. The guide faces an uppermost sheet on the sheet stacker. A set height of a contact portion of the guide to contact the uppermost sheet is changeable.
Method for controlling a web in a printing apparatus
A method is provided for controlling a web in a printing apparatus The printing apparatus includes a transport assembly for moving the web through a transport path along a printing unit for printing an image onto a print area of the web. The method includes feeding the web from a supply roll through the transport path to the transport assembly; and switching the printing apparatus to a ready-to-print mode, wherein the printing unit does not print an image on the web and the web is maintained ready to be printed on. In a printing mode after the ready-to print mode, the following steps are performed: moving the web through the transport path in a transport direction along the printing unit by the transport assembly; and printing the image onto the print area of the web by the printing unit. The image is printed by applying an image material, which solidifies on the web during the printing step. The ready-to-print mode includes the step of: operating the transport assembly to prevent a deformation of the print area of the web in the transport path, while maintaining the web in the ready-to-print mode. The web is maintained ready to print while preventing a deformation of the print area of the web in the transport path.
SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE READING DEVICE INCORPORATING THE SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM INCORPORATING THE SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE
A sheet conveying device includes conveyance passage forming bodies to define a sheet conveyance passage, a nip forming body to form a conveying nip region in the sheet conveyance passage, and a flexible plate body having a support portion to be attached to another body and having a downstream-side end portion as a free end in a sheet conveying direction. The support portion of the flexible plate body is located on an upstream side in the sheet conveying direction with respect to the conveying nip region. The free end being located on a downstream side in the sheet conveying direction with respect to the conveying nip region.
Sheet conveyer and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveyer to shift a sheet at one side of the sheet conveyer in a widthwise direction is provided. The sheet conveyer includes a pair of rollers, a regulative guide arranged at a position closer to the one side than the pair of rollers in the widthwise direction, a first guide arranged at a position upstream from the pair of rollers with regard to a conveying direction to contact a first area on a first face of the sheet at a position closer to the one side in the widthwise direction than a widthwise center of the sheet, and a second guide arranged at a position upstream from the pair of rollers with regard to the conveying direction to contact a second area on a second face of the sheet. The second guide partly overlaps the first guide in a direction of height.
Fixing device having reciprocating separating claw and image forming apparatus
A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressuring member, a separating claw separating a recording medium from the fixing member and a moving mechanism of the separating claw. The moving mechanism includes a biasing member, coaxial two input gears having different numbers of teeth, a bearing depression and a shaft protrusion. The two input gears rotate according to rotation the fixing or pressuring member while shifting by a difference of the numbers of teeth for each rotation. The bearing depression is depressed in one input gear, and has an inclined contact face. The shaft protrusion is protruded from the other input gear, and has an inclined distal end face contact with the contact face. The two input gears rotate to repeat coincidence of inclination directions of the contact face and the distal end face and shifting the inclination directions, and reciprocatingly move the separating claw.

Medium transport device, printing apparatus and liquid ejecting apparatus
A printer includes a transport unit that transports continuous paper, a medium support unit in which a support surface that is capable of supporting continuous paper that is transported by a transport unit, and first concave sections, which are indented from the support surface, are formed, and an image capture unit, which is disposed on a lower side of the support surface, and which captures an image of a lower surface of the continuous paper.
Sheet conveyor and ink-jet recording apparatus
A sheet conveyor, including: a shaft defining an axis that extends in a first direction; an arm pivotable about the axis; a supply roller provided on the arm and configured to supply a sheet; a first frame formed of metal and supporting the shaft; a first conveyance roller configured to covey the sheet supplied from the supply roller; and a second frame formed of metal and supporting the first conveyance roller, wherein the second frame includes (a) a contact plate portion shaped like a plate and having a contact surface that is held in contact with the first frame and (b) a wall portion extending from the contact plate portion in a direction intersecting the contact surface, and wherein the second frame is coupled at the contact plate portion thereof to the first frame.
BAIL ARM
