Friction Shaft for Slitter
A friction shaft for a slitter has winding tubes disposed on an outer surface thereof to roll unit materials formed by cutting a raw material such as various kinds of paper, fabric, or film with predetermined intervals includes a first rotary shaft, tubes, brake pads, a second rotary shaft, pressing members, first rotary tubes, second rotary tubes, first and second bearings, first elastic members, guide members, second elastic members, and lugs for clamping.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND RECORDING MATERIAL TRANSPORT DEVICE
An image forming apparatus includes: an apparatus body including an image former that forms an image on a recording material; an opening unit that leaves an inside of the apparatus body open by being opened in a predetermined opening direction with respect to the apparatus body; a reversing unit that discharges part of the recording material on which the image is formed by the image former externally of the apparatus body, and reverses a transport direction of the recording material; and a guiding unit that is provided adjacent to a downstream side of the opening unit in the opening direction, guides the recording material discharged through the apparatus body by the reversing unit, and when the opening unit is opened with respect to the apparatus body, moves in an opposite direction to the opening direction relatively with respect to the opening unit.
Device and method for feeding papers
A method for feeding sheets of paper comprises the following steps: providing a stack of papers on a storage surface of a paper feeding device; providing a flow of air for separating an uppermost sheet of paper from the rest of the stack of papers; determining the vertical position of the uppermost sheet of paper; adjusting the flow of air in dependence on the determined vertical position of the uppermost sheet of paper; and repeating the steps of determining the vertical position of the uppermost sheet of paper and adjusting the flow of air in dependence on the determined vertical position of the uppermost sheet of paper. During continuous operation, the flow of air is controlled in cycles with one part of the cycle, preferably the first part of the cycle, with a higher flow of air, and one part of the cycle, preferably the second part of the cycle, with a lower flow of air. By imparting the uppermost sheet of paper a pulsating movement up and down, the problems associated with electrostatic charging are mitigated.
Methods and apparatus for conveying a glass ribbon
Methods of conveying a glass ribbon are provided that each includes the step of conveying the glass ribbon over a support device with a cushion of fluid supporting the glass ribbon over the support device. Each method further includes the step of monitoring a physical contact event between the glass ribbon and the support device by detecting an acoustic signal associated with the physical contact event. In further examples, glass ribbon conveying apparatus are provided that each includes a support device configured to support a glass ribbon over the support device with a cushion of fluid. Each apparatus further includes an acoustic sensor configured to monitor a physical contact event between the glass ribbon and the support device by detecting an acoustic signal associated with the physical contact event.

ARRANGEMENT FOR HANDLING STACKS OF SHEETS
There is disclosed herein an arrangement for handling one or more stacks of sheets. The arrangement comprises a support surface being provided with a plurality of openings for supplying a gas underneath said one or more stacks of sheets, a maneuver unit being moveable relative to the support surface and comprising two side clamping devices, the two side clamping devices being arranged at a distance from each other. The arrangement further comprises at least one top clamping device configured to exert a downward pressure onto said one or more stacks of sheets. The two side clamping devices and said at least one top clamping device are at least partly independently maneuverable thereby allowing the arrangement to maneuver one stack of sheets and also to maneuver a plurality of stacks of sheets arranged in a row one after the other.
