Transportation device with pivoting axle
Devices and methods of transport are disclosed. Various embodiments include structural aspects related to steering and changing the direction of conveyances including features which utilize leaning or shifting of weight as part of turning.
Modular activity board
An apparatus for receiving one or more activity attachments including a deck having one or more openings along a long axis of the deck and between the top surface and the bottom surface of the deck. Each of the one or more openings having a circular aperture for receiving an accessory of a set of accessories. Each accessory of the set of accessories providing an activity for a user of the activity. Each accessory having an attachment platform configured to attach the accessory to the board. The attachment platform having a locking mechanism to engaging with a complementary locking mechanism of the board.
Lean-to-steer mechanisms with linear or non-linear steering responses
The present steerable wheel assembly incorporates a lean-to-steer mechanism into an inner race of a roller bearing, while a wheel is mounted to an outer race of the roller bearing. A shaft extending from the mechanism is attached to a body, and the mechanism acts to steer the outer race and the wheel about a vertical steering axis when the shaft is tilted about a horizontal axis. The mechanism can be a pivot joint, providing a linear steering response, or can be a lean-to-steer mechanism that provides a non-linear response where the steering action is not consistently responsive to tilting over the expected range of tilting. The present non-linear lean-to-steer mechanisms can also be incorporated into alternative lean-to-steer devices, and alternative mechanisms can employ tracking structures to coordinate tilting motion of a first moving element with steering motion of a second moving element to provide a non-linear lean-to-steer response.
SKATEBOARD WITH VARIABL-RATE ELASTOMERIC STEERING CONTROL SPRING
A skateboard and a variable-rate elastomeric steering control spring include a boardside unitary body formed of an exterior first elastomer having a first durometer on the Shore A scale, and an interior second elastomer coupled to the first elastomer and extending at least a length of the exterior first elastomer, the second elastomer having a second durometer on the Shore A scale and a through hole disposed to receive a kingpin of the skate truck; a roadside unitary body formed of an exterior third elastomer having a third durometer on the Shore A scale, and an interior fourth elastomer coupled to the third elastomer and extending at least a length of the exterior third elastomer, the interior fourth elastomer having a fourth durometer on the Shore A scale and a through hole disposed to receive the kingpin; and wherein the first, second, third and fourth elastomers comprise at least two durometers on the Shore A scale between 65A and 100A to enable the boardside unitary body and the roadside unitary body to form the variable-rate elastomeric steering control spring when disposed on the king pin of the skate truck.
TRUCK ASSEMBLY AND WHEEL CONTROL STRUCTURES
A truck having configured to couple with a deck. The truck including a base and a hanger. The hanger disposed within a hanger aperture of the base. The hanger rotatably coupled with the base by a pivot assembly. The rotation of the hanger with respect to the base controlled by a compression assembly.
TRANSPORTATION DEVICE WITH PIVOTING AXLE
Devices and methods of transport are disclosed. Various embodiments include structural aspects related to steering and changing the direction of conveyances including features which utilize leaning or shifting of weight as part of turning.
SKATEBOARD AND SKATEBOARD TRUCKS FOR SIMULATING SURFING
Skateboard trucks and skateboards using the improved trucks are disclosed. Truck according to the present invention can comprising a hanger with wheels. A base assembly is included having an at least partially hollow housing section. The hanger is rotationally mounted to the base assembly. The hanger also comprises a hanger portion that is within partially hollow housing section. Compressible spring elements are included within the partially hollow housing section, wherein the hanger portion operates on the compressible spring elements when the hanger rotates in relation to the base assembly. Skateboard are also disclosed that utilize the truck. One or more trucks are mounted to the skateboard deck with the truck having internal compressible spring elements that are compressed when turning the skateboard. The internal compressible spring elements also expand to return the truck to a neutral position when the skateboard is not turning.
Structural fenders for laterally-spaced wheels on a riding device
The present invention comprises structural fenders for a riding device with laterally-spaced wheels, for example on a skateboard. Each wheel is covered by a structural fender that supports the wheel axle on each side of the wheel. Each wheel may have its own axle, or a pair of laterally-spaced wheels may have a single axle. The structural fenders may be used with a skateboard, scooter, or other riding device, and may be connected with a truck hanger comprised of three rigid bodies connected by revolute and spherical joints and a single compliant body to provide three primary motions: leaning, steering, and floating.
Self-Balancing Vehicle With Rotation Stop
A self-balancing vehicle includes a vehicle body having a housing with left and right sides which are independently moveable. A unitary support bar is disposed within the housing, and a left drive wheel and an opposed right drive wheel are each coupled to the support bar. A bracket encircles the support bar; the bracket has a cylindrical body formed with a slot through the body. A set screw is fixed to the support bar and is received within the slot to limit rotational movement of the support bar with respect to the bracket.
Quick-release truck system
A quick-release truck system includes a deck plate, a truck plate, and a locking mechanism for releasably locking the truck plate to the deck plate. The deck plate mounts to an underside of a deck of a rideable vehicle, and the truck plate mounts to, or is integrated into, an upper surface of a truck baseplate. The deck plate and the truck plate slidingly engage one another using vertically-staggered complementary coupling means. The coupling means may further be horizontally-staggered to create a tiered configuration. The coupling means include a combination of rails and grooves. Once fully engaged, the truck plate releasably locks to the deck plate. The deck plate and the truck plate may include cut-outs for weight reduction.
