This disclosure relates to a banknote validator. The banknote validator comprises a banknote path formed within an interior of the banknote validator to transport a banknote from an opening of the banknote path through the interior of the banknote validator, one or more banknote edge detection surfaces each configured to provide images of edges of a banknote in the banknote path, an image sensor configured to capture the images of the edges of the banknote provided by the one or more banknote edge detection surfaces, a steerable drive wheel at least partially disposed within the banknote path, the steerable drive wheel operable to reorient a banknote in the banknote path, and the steerable drive wheel operable to move from a first position to a second position to angle the steerable drive wheel in relation to the banknote path.
SHEET FEED DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feed device comprises a first conveyance path and a second conveyance path which are different sheet conveyance paths, and a conveyance path merging section for merging the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path together. At least one of the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path includes an upstream side roller that feeds sheet to downstream side in a conveyance direction. The conveyance path merging section comprises a conveyance roller pair that conveys the sheet fed from the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path through a nip; a variable mechanism that makes an arrangement angle of one roller of the conveyance roller pair to the other roller thereof variable; and a transmission mechanism that transmits a driving force from the upstream side roller provided in one of the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path to the variable mechanism.

A conveyor device includes a conveyance section, a detector, and a controller. The conveyance section includes a registration roller. The conveyance section conveys a sheet. The detector detects a physical quantity associated with a skew in the sheet. The controller controls the conveyance section. The controller determines, based on a result of detection by the detector, whether or not rotation of the registration roller is to be stopped to perform an operation to correct the skew in the sheet.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet supporting portion, a rotary feeding member, a rotary separation member, a support member configured to support a rotation shaft of the rotary separation member, a swing shaft configured to support the support member, a frame member including a first support portion configured to fix a first end portion of the swing shaft and a second support portion configured to movably support a second end portion of the swing shaft, and an adjustment mechanism including a long hole formed in the second support portion and a fixing member configured to fix the second end portion of the swing shaft to the frame member. The second end portion of the swing shaft can be fixed at a plurality of positions to the second support portion with the fixing member.

A sheet conveying device includes a conveying roller pair, a correction unit, and a control unit. The correction unit includes a correction roller pair and a roller holder. The control unit moves the roller holder from a reference position, and returns the roller holder to the reference position after the sheet is nipped by the correction roller pair, and after this sheet correction operation, the control unit releases the nip of the conveying roller pair. At least either a swing speed vh when returning the roller holder to the reference position, or a deflection amount of the sheet before the roller holder is returned to the reference position, is adjusted so that tension is not applied to the sheet between the conveying roller pair and the correction roller pair.
