PREVENTING MEDIA MISALIGNMENT DURING ACCUMULATION

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure a system for preventing media misalignment during accumulation. The system includes a number of media clamps having multiple positions to prevent misalignment of an incoming media sheet during accumulation. The number of media clamps are in a raised position after a leading edge of the incoming media sheet has passed over a trailing edge of the stack region. The media clamps are in a clamped position after the leading edge of the incoming media sheet has passed the media clamp.

OPERATING UNIT FOR INTERLEAVING MACHINES

An interleaving unit, comprising a pair of rolls (1, 2) set alongside one another and counter-rotating and provided with respective first and second folding tools (3, 4; 5, 6) set at a distance from one another along the circumferential development of the respective peripheral surfaces so as to operate in a common point of tangency (Z) on a succession of sheets (7a, 7b) fed between the two rolls, said tools (3, 4; 5, 6) being set on respective mobile cylinder sectors (8, 9, 10, 11) to enable positioning thereof at an adjustable distance apart along the circumferential development of a corresponding roll (1, 2), said interleaving unit comprising means (M1, M2, U) for independently adjusting the speed of rotation of one or more of said sectors according to their angular position in order to reduce or increase the peripheral speed of said sectors with respect to a speed of feed (Vm) of said sheets.

MOVE BAIL ARMS

Examples disclosed herein relate to moving a bail arm. Examples include to determine a size of a medium to be ejected to an output tray; acquire a fill state of the output tray; and raise a bail arm to a first position above a receiving surface of the output tray when the size of the medium is larger than a size threshold and the fill state is lower than a stack height threshold.

The feed member faces the processing tray and includes a paddle that is elastically deformed by being pressed against the paper sheets during rotation. The drive unit rotates the feed member. The detection unit detects a leading end of the paper sheet being fed toward the alignment surface by the paddle. The control unit controls the drive unit based on a detection result during a period from if the detection unit detects the leading end of the paper sheet to if the paddle separates from the paper sheet and controls the rotation of the feed member so that the leading end of the paper sheet scraped by the paddle is aligned with the alignment surface.

When the roller is twisted and the rotation mechanism rotates the roller, a sheet transported by the roller is transported in a first direction perpendicular to the axis and in a second direction parallel to the axis. When the roller is not twisted and the rotation mechanism rotates the roller, a sheet transported by the roller is transported in the first direction and not in the second direction.
