MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS IN WHICH REFLECTIVITY IN PERIPHERY OF OPENING FOR GUIDING LIGHT IS EQUAL TO OR LESS THAN PREDETERMINED RATIO
A medium conveying apparatus conveyable a passport includes a guide pair including a first guide, and a second guide located so as to sandwich a medium conveyance path together with the first guide, to regulate a vertical direction of the medium conveyance path, a light emitting element located on an outside of the medium conveyance path with one of the first guide or the second guide in between to detect the medium, a light receiving element located on an outside of the medium conveyance path with the first guide in between, to receive a light emitted by the light emitting element, and an opening provided in the first guide, to pass the light emitted from the light emitting element. A reflectivity in a periphery of the opening of the first guide is 55% or less.
MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS INCLUDING LIGHT GUIDE WHICH IS BENT
A medium conveying apparatus includes a moving mechanism to move the set guide, a guide pair including a first guide having a first opening and a second opening, and a second guide to regulate a vertical direction of the medium conveyance path, a light emitting element and a light receiving element located on an outside of the medium conveyance path with the first guide in between, and on the downstream side of the first opening and the second opening so as to be apart from the moving mechanism by a predetermined distance or more in the medium conveying direction, a first light guide which is bent so as to guide a light emitted from the light emitting element to the first opening, and a second light guide which is bent so as to guide the light incident from the second opening to the light receiving element.
SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE
A sheet conveyance device capable of reducing occurrence of creases on a sheet. A pair of first conveyance rollers nip and convey a sheet. A pair of second conveyance rollers arranged downstream of the first conveyance rollers in a sheet conveyance direction nip and convey the sheet. A pair of registration rollers arranged downstream of the second conveyance rollers nip and convey the sheet after correcting skew of the sheet. A switching mechanism switches a state of the second conveyance rollers between a contact state and a separated state. A control unit that controls the rollers and the switching mechanism executes a first conveyance operation that conveys the sheet with the first conveyance rollers and the registration rollers after correcting the skew in the separated state and in a state where a sheet conveyance speed by the registration rollers is higher than that by the first conveyance rollers.
CONVEYANCE DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A conveyance device includes a conveyance roller, a registration roller, a sensor, a mode setting part, a storage, a conveyance state determination part and a drive control part. The mode setting part sets the mode to either a plain paper mode or a tab paper mode. The storage stores threshold information corresponding to the mode. The conveyance state determination part determines, when the plain paper mode is set, whether the conveyance state of the recording medium is a skew conveyance state or a tab paper conveyance state, based on the detection result of the sensor and the plain paper mode threshold information. The conveyance state determination part determines, when the tab paper mode is set, whether the conveyance state of the recording medium is the skew conveyance state or the tab paper conveyance state, based on the detection result of the sensor and the tab paper mode threshold information.
EDGE SENSING APPARATUS IN AUTOMATED TRANSACTION MACHINE
A sensing apparatus can be configured to detect an edge of a paper that is received by an automated transaction machine (ATM). The paper can move along a path located inside the ATM, the path having opposite first and second sides. The sensing apparatus can include a light emitter and a light detector on the first side of the path, with the light emitter positioned so that it can emit light across the path to the second side. The light detector can be configured to detect light from the light emitter and can emit a signal corresponding to an amount of detected light. The sensing apparatus can also include a control circuit that can control a flow of power to the light emitter, and the control circuit can also receive the signal emitted by the sensor.
