The rotary member has a detection target portion configured to be detected by the optical sensor when the rotary member is located at the first or second position.

In a second mode, before the detecting portion detects passing of a trailing end of the current sheet after the separating operation, the controller causes the contact and separation mechanism to start, on the basis of a distance in which the current sheet is fed by the separation conveying portion, the contact operation to feed the subsequent sheet.

The first drive control portion stops driving the first conveyance member (1) after the leading edge of the sheet reaches the second position and before the trailing edge of the sheet passes through the first position when the sheet length is not exceeding a specific distance based on a distance between the first and third positions and (2) after the leading edge reaches the third position and before the trailing edge passes through the first position when the length exceeds the specific distance.

When the feeding of the document to the document conveyance path is completed and then the supply tray is lifted, in a small number of documents discharge state where the height of the documents stacked on the discharge tray is less than the specified value, the lifting and lowering part positions the supply tray at a taking out position depart upward from the specified value by a predetermined space.

A medium passage switching mechanism disposed on a casing of an image forming device, includes a medium tray, a guiding component and a linking component. An entrance passage, a first exit passage and a second exit passage are formed inside the casing. The medium tray is pivoted to the casing. The guiding component is pivoted to the casing. The linking component is a one-piece structure and movably connected to the medium tray and the guiding component. When the medium tray pivots relative to the casing, the medium tray drives the linking component to drive the guiding component to pivot relative to the casing, so that the guiding component can guide a medium to enter into the first exit passage or the second exit passage selectively from the entrance passage.
