Printing system
A printing system includes a print station disposed at a sheet transport path, a feed section arranged to feed media sheets of different media types into the transport path so as to be fed sequentially to the print station, and a controller arranged to receive print instructions concerning images to be printed, to schedule a sequence of the media sheets, and to control the feed section and the print station such that each image is printed on a sheet of a media type that has been specified for that image in the print instructions. A sensor is arranged at the transport path for detecting a quality condition of the sheets being fed to the print station, and the controller is adapted to receive a quality signal from the sensor and, when the quality of a sheet is found to be insufficient, to skip that sheet and to reroute the corresponding image to another scheduled sheet that is compatible with the print instructions.
Printing system
A printing system includes a print station disposed at a sheet transport path, a feed section arranged to feed media sheets of different media types into the transport path so as to be fed sequentially to the print station, and a controller arranged to receive print instructions concerning images to be printed, to schedule a sequence of the media sheets, and to control the feed section and the print station such that each image is printed on a sheet of a media type that has been specified for that image in the print instructions. The processor acquires a specified length along the conveyance path, acquires a first margin length along a conveyance direction in a first margin part, acquires a separation distance along the conveyance path between the first position and a third position which includes the second position and which is located on the conveyance path and between the first position to the second position, and determines whether the separation distance is equal to or longer than a first total length which is the total of the specified length and the first margin length.

A conveyance route switching mechanism and a paper sheet handling apparatus that includes the conveyance route switching mechanism include a driving source, a gate, a first gear, and an internal gear. The driving source includes a driving shaft. The gate includes a gate shaft, and a blade that is provided on the gate shaft, and switches conveyance routes of paper sheets. The first gear is provided on the gate shaft. The internal gear meshes with the first gear. According to rotation of the driving shaft, the gate shaft rotates on an axis of the gate shaft, and revolves with the driving shaft as a rotation center while the first gear meshes with the internal gear.
Image forming apparatus
A control device executes: either a first conveyance change control or a second conveyance change control; and a retraction control when an operation device receives an interruption operation during execution of a specified number stack control. In the first conveyance change control, a sheet conveyance device of a target unit is changed to a relay conveyance state, and the sheet conveyance device of another coupled unit that is present downstream of the target unit in a main conveyance direction is changed to a stack conveyance state. In the second conveyance change control, the sheet conveyance device of another coupled unit that is present upstream in the main conveyance direction is changed to the stack conveyance state. In the retraction control, a lift mechanism of the target unit is caused to execute a mount operation by which a stack tray is moved down to a mount position on a carriage portion.
Method and system for processing printed products
A system for processing printed products includes a transfer station which is provided with an infeeding location for infeeding printed products to the transfer station from a delivery station. The transfer station further comprises a number of connecting locations and a removal location. To each of the connecting locations is connected a processing station. An output station is connected to the removal location. The transfer station is further provided with a transporting device for moving the printed products within the transfer device between the infeeding location, the various connecting locations and the removal location. The printed product infed to the transfer station at the infeeding location is transported in any sequence from the transfer station to one of the processing stations. After completion of the processing operation in a particular processing station, the printed product is moved back to the transfer station. The finished printed products are removed from the transfer station at the removal location.
