Image forming system
An image forming system includes an image forming unit, a varnish, a receiving unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit executes image forming processing to form an image on a plurality of types of recording media including a first type recording medium having a coated layer and a second type recording medium that is without a coated layer. The varnish application unit executes varnish application processing to apply varnish to a recording medium on which the image is formed by the image forming unit. The receiving unit receives an instruction for selecting a recording medium and to receive an instruction for the varnish application processing. The control unit performs control to prevent the receiving unit from receiving an instruction to execute the varnish application processing on the second type recording medium.
Image forming apparatus that announces abnormality of sheet
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a sheet transport mechanism, a sheet abnormality detection device, an output tray, an escape tray, a notification device, and a control device. The escape tray is provided separately from the output tray, and receives the sheet, from which abnormality has been detected by the sheet abnormality detection device, and delivered by the sheet transport mechanism. The control device causes the image forming device to again form, on another sheet, a same image formed on a sheet, from which the sheet abnormality has been detected, and delivered to the escape tray, and to continue with the image forming operation on subsequent sheets, and decides, according to a predetermined condition, whether to allow the notification device to announce the sheet abnormality.
Printing apparatus and printing method
A printing apparatus includes: a holder configured to hold a medium; a conveyor configured to convey the holder; a printing device configured to print on the medium conveyed by the conveyor in response to a reception of a print instruction; and circuitry configure to: maintain the printing device in a busy state; receive the print instruction in the busy state; control the conveyor to start conveying the holder to a print start position in response to a reception of the print instruction in the busy state; hold the holder at the print start position in the busy state; and control the printing device to start printing on the medium in response to a release of the printing device from the busy state.

A post-processing apparatus includes a post-processing device, a sound collector, and circuitry. The post-processing device performs a post-processing operation on a sheet. The sound collector collects and inputs an operating sound of the post-processing operation performed by the post-processing device. The circuitry is to determine whether the operating sound input from the sound collector is normal or abnormal, output an error notification that the post-processing operation is abnormal when the operating sound is determined to be abnormal, and control the post-processing device to end the post-processing operation when the operating sound is determined to be normal.
Cassette and printing apparatus
A cassette comprises a housing portion configured to have a placement face on which sheets are placed and to house sheets; and a standing wall configured to constitute a portion of the housing portion, and to regulate sheets on a back end side in a conveyance direction of sheets to be conveyed from the placement face to a printing apparatus, wherein the standing wall includes a protrusion that protrudes toward the placement face at a position above a predetermined position, which is at a height of sheets that can be stacked on the placement face.

A medium processing apparatus includes a housing, a binder, first and second sensors, and circuitry. The housing has a space in a part. The binder is disposed in the space to perform a binding operation on a sheet bundle. The first sensor is in the space to detect a first side of the sheet bundle in a first direction, and output a first detection signal. The second sensor is adjacent to the first sensor in the space to detect a second side of the sheet bundle adjacent to the first side in a second direction, and output a second detection signal. The circuitry is to input the first and second detection signals, output a notification that the binding operation is executable by the binder, and cause the binder to perform the binding operation in response to receiving an instruction to start the binding operation.
Image forming apparatus and display control method
An image forming apparatus includes: an image former, a paper feed tray that feeds a sheet to the image former; a display that displays a list of tray information on the paper feed tray, based on a mounting order with respect to an apparatus; and a controller that controls display of the display. The controller changes a display order of a list of the tray information according to a display priority based on an image forming operation.
Image forming apparatus, control method for image forming apparatus, and storage medium
Provided are an image forming apparatus and methods for controlling the apparatus, which includes a central processing unit (CPU) configured to set whether to operate an air blowing fan before a paper type detection sensor detects a type of sheet. In a case where a setting to blow the air is made by the CPU, the air blowing fan blows the air when a sheet feed unit feeds the sheet before the paper type detection sensor detects the type of the sheet. In a case where a setting not to blow the air is made by the CPU, the air blowing fan does not blow the air when the sheet feed unit feeds the sheet before the paper type detection sensor detects the sheet type.
Transport device and printing apparatus
A transporting belt constituting a transport device transports a medium supported by a front surface in a transport direction. A removal unit includes a blade that comes into contact with the front surface to remove an adhering substance. A plurality of detectors detect a force received by the blade from the transporting belt or a change in the force. A display unit displays information. An adjustment unit is configured to adjust a position of the blade relative to the transporting belt. Each of the detectors are provided corresponding to a respective one of a plurality of regions into which the transporting belt is divided in the width direction intersecting the transport direction. When the control unit determines that there is an abnormal region among the regions based on detection results of the detectors, the control unit causes the display unit to display information indicating the abnormal region.
Image forming system
An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus, a pressure-bonding processing apparatus, an inputting portion, and a display portion. The displaying portion displays a pressure-bonding printed matter prepared by changing directions of a front surface and a back surface of the recording material in a case that the directions of the front surface and the back surface of the recording material inputted by the inputting portion are different from directions of the front surface and the back surface of the recording material when the pressure-bonding printed matter is capable of being properly prepared.
