Deskewing media

A deskew module of a valuable media depository is selectively controlled to operate in two deskew modes of operation. One deskew mode of operation selectively activates a single angle drive idler in a first cell while simultaneously activating a single straight drive idler in second cell, which forces the media to self-align against an edge of the deskew module for exiting the deskew module deskewed.

SHEET SUPPLY METHOD AND SHEET SUPPLY DEVICE
20210061606 · 2021-03-04 ·

A sheet supply method includes an unwinding step of supplying a sheet to a downstream location at a predetermined conveyance speed and a joining step of joining the sheet from a first roll to the sheet of a second roll and cutting the sheet from the first roll at an upstream position of a joining section. In the joining step, the running speed of the sheet run from the first roll is made lower than the predetermined conveyance speed in the unwinding step, and different from a supply speed of the sheet from a supply part in the joining step. An accumulating mechanism decelerates or accelerates the sheet running to counterbalance an excess or a deficiency of the sheet which is caused by a speed difference between the running speed and the supply speed.

Cash box and banknote processing device using same

Disclosed are a cash box and a banknote processing device using the same. The cash box includes: a guiding plate, configured to guide a banknote to enter a banknote storage chamber; a pickup roller, configured to output the banknote; and a sensor, configured to detect a position of the guiding plate and a position of the pickup roller. When the guiding plate is in a banknote feeding position or the pickup roller is in a banknote pickup position, the sensor outputs a first signal. When the guiding plate deviates from the banknote feeding position and the pickup roller deviates from the banknote pickup position, the sensor outputs a second signal, wherein the first signal is different from the second signal.

STACK HEIGHT IN IMAGING DEVICES

Examples relating to determining stack height in imaging devices are described herein. According to one example, an imaging device includes an input roller assembly to transport a print medium towards an image-forming assembly of the imaging device. The input roller assembly can include a pinch roller for drawing the print medium from a media stack. The imaging device further includes a pressure plate movably coupled to a body portion of the imaging device and biased towards the pinch roller. The pressure plate may hold the media stack between itself and the pinch roller and is movable by a first distance from a neutral position when the media stack is there between. The first distance is measured from a fixed point to a measurement region on the pressure plate and can indicate an instantaneous stack height of the media stack.

SHEET CONVEYANCE APPARATUS AND RECORDING MEDIUM

A controller causes a sensor unit to perform: a first operation for detecting a front end of a sheet; and a second operation for detecting a type of the sheet performed at a timing that is based on detection of the front end of the sheet in the first operation.

IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

An image forming device including an optical sensor, an ultrasound sensor, and a conveyance guide. The optical sensor and the ultrasound sensor are disposed alongside a conveyance path of a sheet and are used to determine sheet type. The conveyance guide guides the sheet along the conveyance path. The conveyance guide is structured such that, on the conveyance path between the optical sensor and the ultrasound sensor, the sheet is in contact with the conveyance guide while a portion of the sheet is in a light irradiation range of the optical sensor and a different portion of the sheet is in an ultrasound irradiation range of the ultrasound sensor.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO ALIGN COMPONENTS OF ADJUSTABLE SENSORS

An apparatus having a first aligner rigidly connected to a first sensor component. The apparatus having a second aligner rigidly connected to a second sensor component. The apparatus having a gap positioned to receive media, wherein the first aligner is configured to attract the second aligner across the gap to align the first sensor component with the second sensor component.

SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
20210032055 · 2021-02-04 ·

A sheet feeding device includes a detachable separation unit, a conveyance unit, a guide member, an urging member, and an opening and closing member. The feeding unit feeds a stored sheet. The separation unit separates sheets fed by the feeding unit one by one. The conveyance unit conveys the sheet. Urged by the urging member, the guide member guides the sheet toward the conveyance unit and rotates about a first rotating shaft. The opening and closing member opens and closes. In a state in which the opening and closing member is closed, the guide member is positioned in a first position in which the guide member forms a conveyance path. In a process in which the opening and closing member is opened, a free end of the guide member moves upwardly about the first rotating shaft, by using an urging force, from the first to a second position.

METHOD FOR SPATIALLY ARRANGING COILS IN A COIL STORE, AND COMBINATION OF A PROCESSING MACHINE AND A COIL STORE

Method for spatially arranging coils, the method comprising: providing electronic data about an initial storage state, which electronic data contains information about a respective initial diameter of the coils and a respective initial spatial storage position of the coils in a coil store; transporting a selected coil from an initial storage position to a processing machine for processing at least a portion of the sheet metal of the selected coil; sensing a reduced diameter of the selected coil after the portion of the sheet metal has been removed from the selected coil for processing by the processing machine; storing the reduced diameter of the selected coil; transporting the selected coil having the reduced diameter to a depositing storage position which, depending on the reduced diameter, is selected to differ from the initial storage position in a manner that saves storage space; and storing the depositing storage position.

Method of forming a lottery ticket with a translucent substrate

A lottery ticket is printed on a substrate sheet material having a front surface with lottery game indicia printed thereon and a removable covering material, typically scratch-off material, covering the lottery game indicia which is removable by a player to expose the game indicia for playing the game and other game information printed on the substrate sheet material where at least part of the substrate sheet material is formed of a translucent synthetic material to enable viewing through the part by the player. In order to allow the ticket to be dispensed in a row of the tickets from a dispensing machine with an optical sensor, a patch of an opaque or semi-opaque material is applied onto the substrate at a location to cooperate with the sensor while it is operating to detect ticket location.
