PAPER FEEDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
20200031599 · 2020-01-30 ·

A paper feeding apparatus includes a tray, an air blower, a floating detector, and a hardware processor. In the tray, a sheet of paper is loaded. The air blower blows air to the sheet loaded in the tray to float the sheet. The floating detector is provided above the sheet loaded in the tray and detects the floating of the sheet to a predetermined level. The hardware processor causes the air blower to blow the air and determines a basis weight of the sheet loaded in the tray from an air amount that has caused the floating detector to detect the floating of the sheet.

SHEET DISCHARGE APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A sheet discharge apparatus includes a discharge and sheet support unit, a detection unit, a rotation member having a first abutting portion positioned above the sheet support unit, and a pressing member provided rotatably independent of the rotation member. The discharge unit nips and discharges a sheet in a sheet discharge direction. The sheet support unit supports the discharged sheet. The rotation member rotates when the first abutting portion is pressed by the sheet. The detection unit detects a position of the rotation member. A second abutting portion of the pressing member abuts against the sheet at a position downstream from a position at which the discharge unit nips the sheet and upstream from the first abutting portion in the sheet discharge direction. The pressing member presses the sheet discharged from the discharge unit downward using the second abutting portion, regardless of a position of the rotation member.

An image forming apparatus includes a control unit and an attachment detection unit to detect attachment of a cassette having a stacking portion that may be lifted by a motor. The control unit drives the motor to start lifting the stacking portion when cassette attachment is detected and stops when the stacked uppermost sheet is detected at a sheet feed position, at which time the presence or absence of the stored sheet is determined based on a detection signal output by a sheet presence/absence detection unit. In a case where there is no change in the detection signal output from the sheet presence/absence detection unit when the attachment of the cassette is detected, the control unit determines that a failure of the sheet presence/absence detection flag occurred.

First and second detecting members that detect a sheet or an object lifted beyond a delivery position at which the sheet is delivered is provided, and the second detecting member is configured to be activated in conjunction with activation of the first detecting member. Thus, with a simple configuration, it is possible to detect, over a wide area above a sheet loading section, a sheet or an object placed at a wrong position.

A breaking circuit applied to a motor comprises an actuator, an anti-reverse component and a limiting resistor. The actuator comprises a first electricity transmission terminal, a second electricity transmission terminal and a controlled terminal, with the controlled terminal configured to be connected with a power supply port, and the first electricity transmission terminal configured to be electrically connected with a power input terminal of the motor. The anti-reverse component is electrically connected between the controlled terminal and the first electricity transmission terminal of the actuator. The limiting resistor is electrically and serially connected with the first electricity transmission terminal or the second electricity transmission terminal of the actuator. When power supplied from the power supply port to the power input terminal is stopped, the actuator is conducted to form a discharge path from the power input terminal through the limiting resistor to a low electric potential end.

PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD

Provided is a technique that enables proper sorting of discharged print media by suppressing curling of each of the print media sufficiently. A determining unit determines a curling suppressing operation to be executed such that in a case where sorting operation is executed, the suppressing operation having a higher effect of suppressing curling is executed than in a case where the sorting operation is executed. Then, a print control unit controls a print head to perform printing on print media while executing the suppressing operation determined by the determining unit.

Provided is a printing apparatus comprising: a discharging unit configured to convey and discharge print media; a tray configured to receive print media discharged in a first direction from the discharging unit; and a drive unit configured to move the tray in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. In discharging print media, the tray is moved in the second direction to thereby receive the discharged print media at a plurality of different positions on the tray. The tray is movable to a take-out position being a position closer in the second direction to a take-out side where print media are taken out than any of the positions at which the tray receives the print media discharged from the discharging unit.

A sheet discharge apparatus includes a sheet discharging portion, a sheet supporting portion, a pivot member configured to pivot by being pressed by the sheet discharged from the sheet discharging portion, a detecting unit configured to detect a position of the pivot member, and a control unit configured to change a sheet interval. The control unit executes a first discharge operation in which at least one sheet is discharged, a second discharge operation in which sheets are discharged at a first sheet interval, and a third discharge operation in which at least one sheet is discharged at a second sheet interval that is longer than the first sheet interval, a number of sheets discharged in the second discharge operation being acquired based on a detection result of the detecting unit detected during the first discharge operation.
