Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a registration unit, a first paper feeding unit, a second paper feeding unit, and a control unit, which performs a primary paper feeding for conveying a paper sheet to a registration position, finishes the primary paper feeding at timing when the paper sheet reaches the registration position, and then after operating a target paper feeding unit until a preceding feeding time elapses, performs a secondary paper feeding for conveying the paper sheet to the printing position. The control unit sets different values of the preceding feeding time for the case where the first paper feeding unit is the target paper feeding unit and the case where the second paper feeding unit is the target paper feeding unit.
Method of controlling caliper of the fiber web of a parent roll and production line for producing fiber webs
To minimize the cost of a fiber web due to the web, particularly a board web, being manufactured overly thick to compensate for loss of caliper in the reel-up, the web is made thicker just for the inner layers of what will become a parent roll. The caliper of the web is measured as or after it is unwound. A caliper curve of the parent roll as a function of the diameter of the parent roll is calculated as a function of the diameter of the parent roll and/or the customer roll. The fiber web is adjusted by changing running parameters of the production line: web speed i.e. production speed, headbox-flow, head-box consistency, coating weight of the coating paste or calender nip load.
Transporting apparatus
A transporting apparatus includes a speaker and a microphone that are arranged opposite to each other with respect to a transportation path, and a controller that controls a transportation mechanism based on microphone output obtained by causing the microphone to acquire a sound emitted by the speaker. The controller uses the microphone to acquire the sound emitted by the speaker and changes, based on the microphone output, at least any of a time period during which the speaker is driven, output from the speaker, and the microphone output.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
An apparatus includes: a unit that provides an instruction on creasing and folding positions on paper set such that the distance between fold crease and fold line positions is meaningful; a unit that acquires a read image by reading paper that has been subjected to creasing and folding processes in accordance with the creasing and folding positions in an open state; a unit that analyzes the read image to detect two streaks corresponding to the fold crease and the fold line from the read image, and that specifies the position of one of the two streaks as the fold crease position and the position of the other as the fold line position on the basis of the creasing and folding positions; and a unit that outputs correction information about at least one of the creasing and folding positions such that the fold crease and fold line positions match each other.
APPARATUS TO SELECT-INTRODUCE PRINTED OR BLANK SHEETS AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
An apparatus to select-introduce blank sheets and/or printed materials and corresponding method, comprising a positioning seating, a selector unit and an introduction unit suitable to select and introduce sheets in sequence according to the format and basic weight, maintaining high cadences and at the same time reducing the causes of blockages of the sheets in the apparatus.
Image processing apparatus, control method for image processing apparatus, and program
In printing processing, an MFP determines whether the number of printed sheets is less than or equal to an upper limit of bindable sheets of staple-less binding in a case where staple-less binding is set in print data. If the MFP determines that the number of printed sheets is less than or equal to the upper limit, the MFP determines whether binding processing is to be performed by switching to staple-less binding. If the MFP determines to perform binding processing by switching, the binding processing is performed by staple binding.
Sheet conveyance apparatus that detects overlapping of plurality of sheets, and image reading apparatus
A transmitter transmits ultrasound to the conveyance path. A receiver receives the ultrasound. A double-feed detector detects whether or not double-feed of a plurality of sheets has occurred. A controller causes the transmitter to transmit ultrasound at a first burst interval when determining the threshold value, and causes the transmitter to transmit ultrasound at a second burst interval, which is shorter than the first burst interval, when detecting the double-feed of sheets. A double-feed detector determines a threshold value that enables distinction between double-feed and single-feed.
DOCUMENT TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT RAISES AND LOWERS DOCUMENT PLACEMENT TRAY
A document transport device includes a controller that, when a document detection sensor has detected a document on a document placement tray, controls driving of an elevating mechanism that raises the document placement tray from a lower limit position to an upper limit position to temporarily raise the document placement tray to the upper limit position and then move the document placement tray to a standby position which is a predetermined distance below and stop moving the document placement tray. The standby position is set to a position that is between the upper limit position and the lower limit position and closer to the upper limit position than to the lower limit position.
Method for monitoring a post print processing machine
A method and a device for monitoring a post print processing machine through which printed products are successively transported. An image recording device is assigned to the post print processing machine and connected to a computer unit for recording during each operating cycle an image series with at least two images of a printed product, spaced apart by a time interval. The images of the image series are transmitted to the computer unit and the images are displayed in real time on a display device that is connected to the computer unit.
