SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A LOCATION OF A PERSON IN A HOISTWAY
A system for detecting a presence of a person in a hoistway, having: one or more controllers configured to authenticate the person in the hoistway; the one or more controllers being operationally connected to an elevator car in the hoistway and configured to determine whether the person is within a predetermined distance of the elevator car from a signal emitter on the person; wherein when the person is within the predetermined distance of the elevator car, the one or more controllers is configured to transmit a feedback request to the person and stop the elevator car unless the one or more controllers receives feedback to the feedback request within a predetermined period of time.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR AN ELEVATOR
A safety device includes an external device for the use of inspection within an elevator hoistway, and a human detection sensor in electrical communication with the external device and an elevator controller. The human detection sensor is configured to detect presence of a person within the hoistway in response to the ON operation of the external device to prevent movement of the elevator car.
Elevator pit safety net system
A safety net system is provided for an elevator system that includes an elevator pit. The safety net system includes a sensor and a processor. The sensor is arranged in a plane along a bottom of the elevator pit and is configured to perform sensing to sense an object disposed along the plane and to generate data corresponding to results of the sensing. The processor is operably coupled to the sensor and is configured to analyze the data and to determine whether the data is indicative of a person in the elevator pit based on analysis results.
ELEVATOR PIT MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS
Safety systems and methods for elevator systems include an elevator car configured to travel along an elevator shaft, a pit at a bottom of the elevator shaft, and a governor having an energizable actuator configured to be continuously energized from a time of activation to a time of reset, the governor configured to stop downward movement of the elevator car along the elevator shaft after the time of activation until the time of reset, with energizing of the energizable actuator being initiated from an electrical trigger mechanism proximate the pit of the elevator shaft.
ELEVATOR SAFETY DEVICES
An elevator safety device 16 for monitoring a landing door 10 of an elevator system 2. The elevator system 2 includes a landing door sensor 14 arranged to detect a state of the landing door 10. The elevator safety device 16 includes a power source 20 arranged to power the landing door sensor 14 independently of a power supply 19 of the elevator system 2 and a memory 22 arranged to record a state of the landing door 10 detected by the landing door sensor 14 when the landing door sensor 14 is powered by the power source 20.
ELEVATOR ALERT SYSTEM
An elevator alert system for alerting a mechanic working inside a hoistway comprises an elevator car vertically movable within a hoistway, a counterweight vertically movable within the hoistway and a compensation member with one end connected to the bottom of the elevator car and the other end connected to the bottom of the counterweight. The compensation member includes at least one light source attached to the compensation member near the elevator car or counterweight. The at least one light source longitudinally extends along the compensation member over a length.
Elevator pit monitoring and integrity check of monitoring system
An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car configured to travel in the hoistway, and a pit located at a bottom of the hoistway. A safety chain is configured to enable or disable motion of the elevator car, and a sensor assembly is configured to initiate opening the safety chain to disable motion of the elevator car upon detection of a person in a detection region of the sensor assembly in the hoistway. A test device is configured to test operation of the sensor assembly to detect malfunctioning and/or tampering of operation of the sensor assembly.
METHOD AND A CONTROL APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
According to an aspect, there is provided a method for controlling an elevator system. The method comprises causing transmission of radio frequency signals with at least one radio frequency sensor attached to at least one element movable in an elevator shaft of an elevator system, receiving, from the at least one radio frequency sensor measurement data representing radio frequency signals reflected from at least one object and captured with the at least one radio frequency sensor, causing identification, based on the measurement data, of at least one object; and controlling operation of the elevator system in response to identifying the at least one object based on the measurement data.
ELEVATOR DISPLAY SYSTEMS
Elevator cars are provided herein. The elevator cars include a wall panel defining part of a passenger space of the elevator car, two or more receiving rails arranged on an exterior of the wall panel, and an elevator display system having a viewing panel and an enclosure housing a display screen. The viewing panel is mounted to the wall panel on an interior of the wall panel and the enclosure is engageable with the receiving rails on the exterior of the wall panel such that the display screen is movably positioned relative to the viewing panel to be viewable from within the passenger space in an installed position.
SCISSOR LIFT ELEVATOR PLATFORM
An elevator car includes a car body having a car floor, one or more car sidewalls, and a car ceiling. A movable floor panel is located at the car floor. The movable floor panel is configured to be moved between a stowed position and a raised position, such that access to an elevator system hoistway is gained via the movable floor panel in the raised positon. A method of performing maintenance on an elevator system component includes moving an elevator car along a hoistway to a maintenance position, raising a movable floor panel of the elevator car from a stowed position to a raised position, accessing an elevator system component located in the hoistway outside of the elevator car through an opening in the elevator car via the movable floor panel located in the raised position, and performing maintenance on the component from inside of the elevator car.
