In an elevator system, a belt-type carrier is guided over a pulley. In this case, longitudinal elevations of the belt-type carrier engage into longitudinal recesses on a roller contact surface. The roller has at least one retaining element, which is arranged laterally to the contact surface. In this case, a distance between an outermost longitudinal recess and the retaining element is less than half a longitudinal recess width of the roller contact surface.

Concepts for detecting a deterioration state of a load bearing capacity in a suspension member arrangement for an elevator

Methods and devices detect a deterioration state of a load bearing capacity in an elevator suspension member arrangement having several suspension members, such as belts, including electrically conductive cords incorporated into an elastomer material. Deterioration is determined by applying alternating electric voltages to the cords included in legs of a circuitry. Phase shifts between the alternating voltages, for example by determining sum voltages and/or differential voltages, provide valuable information about a condition of the belt. A fixation arrangement of the suspension member arrangement is adapted to enable or simplify the proposed measurements. Furthermore, counting a number of performed bending cycles provides further information to be taken into account for determining the current deterioration state of the belts. Overall, deteriorations in a suspension member such as broken cords, shunts between cords, connections between cords and ground potential and/or deterioration due to corrosion of cords may be easily detected.

ELEVATOR ROPE TERMINAL STRUCTURE

Provided is an elevator rope terminal structure including an insertion body to be held in contact with an elevator rope having a flat sectional shape. Pressing portions provided to the insertion body are configured to maintain a state in which the insertion body is pressed against the elevator rope. The elevator rope and the insertion body are to be held inside a through hole of a housing. The through hole has an inner surface including a first receiving surface and a second receiving surface which are to be positioned on both sides of the elevator rope in a thickness direction of the elevator rope. A distance between the first receiving surface and the second receiving surface decreases toward a rope passage port of the through hole. The insertion body includes a first insertion member to be arranged between the elevator rope and the first receiving surface.

A belt of an elevator system includes one or more tension elements extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, and an elastomeric jacket at least partially enveloping the one or more tension elements. The jacket defines a traction side configured to be interactive with a traction sheave of the elevator system and a back side opposite the traction side. A protective tape is applied to the elastomeric jacket at the back side. A method of assembling an elevator system includes forming a belt, and installing the belt in a hoistway of the elevator system. One or more additional components of the elevator system are installed in the hoistway. A protective tape is removed from a jacket of the belt after installation of the one or more additional components is completed.

COMPOSITE ELEVATOR BELT AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME

A composite elevator belt for engaging a sheave includes a load carrier having at least one load carrier strand extending substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the load carrier and a resin coating surrounding the at least one load carrier strand and defining a plurality of predetermined, deformable cavities within the resin coating adjacent the at least one strand. When the elevator belt is bent around the sheave, the elevator belt defines a neutral bending zone located within the elevator belt generally coincident with the longitudinal axis, a tension zone radially outward of neutral bending zone, and a compression zone radially inward from the neutral bending zone.

Elevator system suspension member termination with containment

A termination device for a suspension member of an elevator system includes a housing and a wedge located in the housing. The wedge extends across a width of the suspension member and at least partially across a thickness of the suspension member. The wedge is interactive with the suspension member to apply a clamping force to the suspension member in response to an axial load acting on the suspension member. The wedge includes a wedge lip configured to contain the suspension member within a lateral extent of the wedge.

AN EVELATOR TENSION MEMBER WITH A HARD THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE ELASTOMER JACKET

An elevator tension member is presented that has one or more steel cords as strength members that are encased in a jacket of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer is selected on the basis of its thermal properties in that the glass transition temperature of the hard phase (Tg HS) is above 90° C. In preferential embodiments that thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer has a crystallisation temperature (Tg) that is at least 20° C. higher than Tg HS. In other preferential embodiments the sum of Tg HS and Tc is higher than 200° C. Such thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers exhibit an unexpected increase in useful lifetime when compared to conventionally used polyurethanes. Moreover the invention provides a simple method to select an appropriate thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer.
