20180309276 · 2018-10-25 ·

A cable clamp, comprising a base member including a surface configured to receive and engage with a side of a cable, a first leg portion and a second leg portion projecting from the surface. The first leg portion includes a first engagement surface having a plurality of teeth and the second leg portion includes a second engagement surface. There is a sliding member including a surface in opposing relation to the surface of the base and first and second engagement members. The first engagement member has a plurality of teeth mated to the teeth of the first engagement surface and the second engagement member is frictionally mated to the second engagement surface. The sliding member moves with respect to base member in a first direction but not in a second, opposite direction, due to the interaction of the teeth.

An elevator cable management system is described to provide constraints on cable movements at a point between the top and bottom of an elevator track. The system may include a moving retainer bar with a cradle on top of an elevator car, and a fixed retainer bar that retains cables when the elevator car is above the fixed retainer bar.

ROPE SWAY REDUCING ARRANGEMENT FOR WEIGHT-BASED HINDERING OF LATERAL SWAY OF AN ELONGATE ROPE-LIKE MEANS IN AN ELEVATOR HOISTWAY
20180282126 · 2018-10-04 ·

A rope sway reducing arrangement hinders a lateral sway of an elongate rope-like device having one end attached to a movable component displaceable within an elevator hoistway and another end attached to a fixed position within the hoistway. The sway reducing arrangement includes an elongate guide arrangement having two spanning ropes fixedly attached within and extending in a longitudinal direction of the hoistway. The sway reducing arrangement further includes a rope tensioning arrangement having a weight member and being mechanically connected to the guide arrangement for displacement and guiding along the longitudinal direction of the guide arrangement. The mechanical connection is via an engagement member to generate tensioning forces onto the rope-like device due to gravity-induced forces resulting from a weight of the weight member. Thereby, the rope-like device is held at the guide arrangement with a downward directed mechanical tension thereby preventing excessive lateral sway.

Elevator system

An elevator system includes a travelling cable connected to an elevator car and to a hoistway wall. The travelling cable includes an electric conductor and/or a data carrier operatively connected at a first end to a feed source and at a second end to service appliances of the elevator car. A protective layer includes an outer diameter and surrounds the electric conductor and/or data carrier. A duct is connected at a first open end to a fluid source and at a second openable end to the elevator car. A sensor system is configured for detecting swaying amplitude of the travelling cable. A microprocessor is associated to the sensor system and to the fluid source. The microprocessor is configured for receiving swaying amplitude data from the sensor system and for operating the fluid source when the swaying amplitude exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Traveling cable sway prevention

An elevator system includes an elevator car movable along a hoistway, a traveling cable operably connected to the elevator car and movable along the hoistway with the elevator car, and a traveling cable support positioned in the hoistway and operably connected to the traveling cable to prevent sway of the traveling cable. A traveling cable and traveling cable support arrangement for an elevator system includes a traveling cable positioned in a hoistway and movable in the hoistway during elevator system operation, and a traveling cable support positioned in the hoistway and operably connected to the traveling cable to prevent sway of the traveling cable, the traveling cable support operably connected to the traveling cable via a plurality of guide frames.

Monitoring of support in elevator installations

A support for an elevator car in an elevator installation includes a plurality of tensile carriers, arranged parallel to one another, and a casing. The tensile carriers are enclosed by the casing, wherein the tensile carriers extend along a longitudinal axis of the support. The tensile carriers are freed at least partly from the casing on a section of the longitudinal axis of the support. Contact elements for electrical contacting of the exposed tensile carriers are fastened to the tensile carriers at this section.

An elevator installation includes a car and at least one support device supporting the car. The support device has a plurality of electrically conductive tensile carriers that are arranged parallel to one another and which are substantially enclosed by a casing. The elevator installation further includes a monitoring device that connects the tensile carriers or groups of the tensile carriers in an alternating configuration as electrical resistances in a measuring bridge so that electrical resistances of different tensile carriers can be compared with one another by sensing a bridge voltage.

Lift system

The invention concerns a lift system with at least one lift car able to ride in a lift shaft, while a travelling cable is provided, having a first end at the lift car side and a second end at the shaft side, wherein the weight force of the travelling cable is at least partially channelled into a traction means or balancing means engaging with the lift car.

Travelling cable of an elevator, and an elevator

A travelling cable of an elevator, more particularly of a passenger transport elevator and/or freight transport elevator, includes a protective envelope, conductors for transmitting electrical energy and data between the elevator car and the elevator hoistway, and one or more load-bearing bearer parts of essentially the length of the travelling cable for fixing the travelling cable at its first end to the elevator car and at its second end to the elevator hoistway, and which bearer part includes glass-fiber reinforcements and/or aramid-fiber reinforcements and/or carbon-fiber reinforcements and/or polybenzoxazole-fiber reinforcements and/or polyethylene-fiber reinforcements and/or nylon-fiber reinforcements in a polymer matrix material. An elevator includes the travelling cable.
