The compensating cable has an elastic deformation limit. The means for suspending the compensating cable has a tensile strength that is less than the elastic deformation limit of the compensating cable.

ELEVATOR TENSION MEMBER END TERMINATION

An end termination clamp for a tension member includes a linkage configured for connection to a structural element and a first plate opposite a second plate defining a space therebetween to accept the tension member. Each of the first and second plates have a linkage end connected to the linkage, a belt entrance end, and a main body extending between the linkage and belt entrance ends. The first and second plates respectively define first and second clamping surfaces configured to abut opposite sides of a tension member. The end termination clamp further includes at least one fastener connecting the first plate and second plate to clamp the tension member in the space therebetween. The first and second clamping surfaces are narrower than a width of the tension member at the belt entrance end of the first and second plates.

An elevator system capable of reducing the overall installation area of elevators in a building while ensuring the number of passengers in the elevator. The elevator system arranges first and second elevator cars in a single elevator hoistway, having, at a lower portion of each of the first and second elevator cars, respectively, a pair of undercar pulleys are positioned to turn ropes vertically on the outer sides of the first and second elevator cars and horizontally at the bottom, where the arranging direction of the pair of the under-car pulleys of the first elevator car intersects with the arranging direction of the pair of under-car pulleys of the second elevator car when projected onto a horizontal plane.

TENSION MEMBER TENSION MONITORING ARRANGEMENT, A TENSION MEMBER TENSION MONITORING METHOD AND AN ELEVATOR

A tension member tension monitoring arrangement and method for measuring tension member tension of elevator tension members of a bundle of tension members, the elevator comprising an elevator car suspended by the tension members, such as ropes or belts, of the bundle of tension members, a termination at one end of a tension member and a mounting plate for attaching the termination relative to the hoistway, counterweight and/or the elevator. The tension member tension monitoring arrangement comprises at least one capacitive pressure sensor arranged in connection with a tension member termination. The arrangement further comprises a control unit connected to the at least one sensor. The at least one sensor is configured to sense the tension member forces of the tension members of the bundle of tension members attached to the tension member termination and generate a signal relating to one or more tension members of the tension member bundle readable and/or measurable by the control unit and proportional to the sensed load or force.

An elevator system includes an elevator car movable in an elevator shaft, a suspension means extending in the elevator shaft, a drive machine associated with the suspension means and a controllable coupling device arranged on the elevator car. The suspension means has a coupling element that the coupling device can be coupled to and uncoupled from, as a result of which a drive connection between the elevator car and the suspension means can be established and released. The elevator system has a guide system guiding the coupling element during a movement in the elevator shaft. The guide system has a guide that is stationary relative to the elevator shaft and a runner that is connected to the coupling element via a connection and is guided along the guide. The connection between the coupling element and the runner enables a relative movement between the runner and coupling element.

A method and device detect non-uniform and uniform deterioration states in an elevator suspension member having first and second groups of electrically conductive cords. First ends of the groups are electrically connected to an alternating voltage generator arrangement and second ends are electrically connected to each other through first and second resistors via a neutral point at which electrical resistances of the groups are the same in a non-deteriorated state of the suspension member. The method includes: applying first and second alternating voltages to the first end of the first and second groups, respectively; determining a neutral point voltage between the neutral point and an electrical reference potential; determining difference voltages between first and second difference measurement points located between the second ends of the groups and the respective resistors; and determining the deterioration state based on both the determined neutral point voltage and the determined difference voltage.
