The plurality of guide wheels are connected to the guide wheel support plate, and the guide wheel support plate is connected to the multifunctional connecting bracket, and the multifunctional connecting bracket does not exceed the guide wheel assembly in a transverse direction, so that the escalator module at least includes, at the maximum dimension in the transverse direction, the guide wheel assembly.

An escalator has a step belt or moving walkway has a plate belt, wherein the belt includes at least one link chain arranged to circulate between a first deflecting region and a second deflecting region of the escalator or the moving walkway. Guide rollers as well as steps or plates are arranged at the link chain. The link chain additionally includes system rollers. The guide rollers and the system rollers are arranged on at least three tracks lying adjacent to one another with respect to a direction of circulation of the link chain, wherein one of the tracks is occupied by the guide rollers and at least two of the tracks are occupied by the system rollers.

A plate belt of a moving walkway has plates arranged in succession in a movement direction and between two mutually parallel link chains formed by chain links of different widths. Each chain link is connected with one of the plates by at least one fastening device. The fastening devices include a fastening bolt and a cup washer, wherein the cup washer has a cup base ring and a cup collar encircling the cup base ring. The inner height of the cup collar corresponds with the thickness of at least one chain link strap of the chain link and the inner diameter of the cup collar is greater than the outer diameter of the region of the fastening bolt bearing against the cup base ring in the mounted state.
