LIFTING SYSTEM
20190225461 · 2019-07-25 ·

An apparatus including a base, a guide arm pivotable relative to the base, the guide arm movable between a raised position and a lowered position. A tension linkage has a distal end extending away from the base, the tension linkage supported by the guide arm when the arm is in the raised position. A tension linkage guide is disposed on the guide arm, the tension linkage guide movable along the tension linkage as the guide arm moves between raised and lowered positions. A hook is connected to the distal end of the tension linkage. When the hook is engaged with an object, the tension linkage forms a first tension angle and a second tension angle when the guide arm is in the raised position and the lowered position respectively, the second tension angle being less than the first tension angle.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING PROPERTIES OF A ROPE
20190218062 · 2019-07-18 · ·

A rope, a system and a method for measuring one or more properties of a rope. A property evaluation system for ropes can be deployed for a number of different applications including, but not limited to, moving lines, e.g., crane or winch and static lines, e.g., mooring lines, stays, etc., to evaluate physical properties of the ropes and, in some cases, to help evaluate structural health of the ropes. A sheave assembly (10) may transmit a signal into a rope (14) to measure at least one property of the rope. At least one sensor (25) may be coupled to or assembled in the rope to measure at least one property of the rope.

Rigging ring

Lifting and transporting system

Jack units attach skates to an object to be moved. Each jack unit has a tongue that slidably engages a coupling slot affixed to the object, and can be operated to raise or lower the tongue; when raised, the object is supported on the skates and can be rolled to a new location. A crane can attach to lift eyes on the jack units to allow the system to be lifted with the skates attached to the object, avoiding the risk to operators of positioning the skates under the object while it is suspended. Rotation-limiting structures can be selectively employed to block rotation of the trailing skates to facilitate steering when rolling the object supported by the system. The coupling slots can be provided in coupling elements which can attach directly to the object or which can be employed to form a freestanding frame to which the object is secured.

METHOD FOR ANCHORING A HOLDING MEANS IN A WIND TURBINE AND ADAPTER
20190186464 · 2019-06-20 ·

A method for anchoring a holding means of a transport tool, in particular a sling of a rope for supporting loads, in a wind turbine, the wind turbine includes at least two components connected via a bolt-and-nut arrangement includes multiple pairs of bolts and nuts at opposing flanges, the nuts fastening to the bolts at the upper flange, wherein at least one adapter includes a cylindrical outer holding surface for receiving the holding means is placed atop of at least one nut covering its edges, and the holding means is fastened to the adapter is provided.

Rigging basket

A rigging assembly has no loose parts that an up-rigger may drop. The rigging assembly includes a length of steel cable terminating in a loop at each end. One loop extends through an oblong master link, while the other loop extends through a swivel hook. The ground-rigger can attach the hook of a hoist's chain to the master link on the ground. The ground-rigger can then tie the up-rigger's rope onto the master link. The up-rigger then pulls the rigging assembly and the hoist's chain up to the beam, leaving the master link and chain under the beam. Then the up-rigger grabs the hook end of the rigging basket assembly, bends it over the beam, and attaches the swivel hook end to the master link, thus creating a loop around the beam to support the hoist's chain and load, which is known in the industry as creating a basket.

V-sling with hook positioning adapter

A V-sling (100) for use in winching a vehicle includes a master linking device (150) and at least two longitudinally extending flaccid leg members (114) coupled on a first end to the master linking device (150). The opposing second end of the flaccid leg members (114) are respectively coupled to a plurality of hooks (116, 116a). The master linking device (150) includes having a load coupling linkage (152) and a hook positioning adapter (154). The load coupling linkage (152) defines a first plane and the hook positioning adapter (154) is disposed in a second plane. The second plane is transverse to the first plane for positioning a winch hook (62) engaged therewith in a plane corresponding to the first plane.
