Articulating rail for multidirectional movement of suspended load
A rail fixture that may include a plurality of track sections suspending a plurality of rail sections. The rail fixture may further include a traveler that traverses across one of the track sections, and a trolley that traverses across the plurality of rail sections. The rail fixture may further include a motorized winch assembly that may be used to lift a load to be moved toward the rail sections. The rail fixture may be used to move a load from a first location to a second location, for example, through an enclosed space having little clearance.
CRANE RAIL
An overhead crane has first and second runway rails that extend parallel to a generally horizontal runway axis and a bridge that extends along a bridge axis that is generally horizontal and perpendicular to the runway axis and that is movable on the runway rails along the runway axis. The bridge includes a first bridge reinforcement member pre-loaded under tension to provide an upward deflection of the bridge rail. The first bridge reinforcement member may have at least two upwardly extending struts and a common upper end where the at least two struts meet, the at least two struts having lower ends mechanically connected to the bridge rail at positions longitudinally spaced apart with respect to the bridge axis. The lower ends of the at least two struts are longitudinally translatable along the bridge rail to adjust the tension on the first bridge reinforcement member to thereby adjust the extent of upward deflection of the bridge rail. The bridge further includes a pair of second bridge reinforcement members extending between the upper end of the first bridge reinforcement member and mechanically connected to the bridge rail proximate the first and second outer ends, the second bridge reinforcement members loaded in compression. The runway rails may be constructed in a similar manner as the bridge rail.
Methods and apparatus for constructing glass furnace refractory structures
Methods and apparatus for constructing or reconstructing refractory structures, e.g., glass furnace regenerator structures and/or glass furnace structures having walls formed of refractory block and buck stays externally supporting the walls are provided. A header support beam assembly is provided so as to extend at an angle between respective pairs of side wall buckstays. A moveable hoist moveable hoist supporting assembly supported by the header support beam assembly and moveable between the opposed pairs of side and end walls. In such a manner, refractory components, e.g., refractory wall blocks and/or checker bricks, may be hoisted into position when constructing or reconstructing the refractory structure.
CANTILEVERED CRANE SYSTEM FOR A FACTORY WORK STATION
A workstation having a cantilevered crane system that includes one or more cantilevered header assemblies, with each cantilevered header assembly including an upright column and a horizontally oriented header, with the header extending from the column with a free end distal from the column. The headers support a pair of runway rails, with at least one bridge rail movably mounted to the runway rails and supporting a moveable hoist. The cantilevered crane system defines a workstation area bounded by the columns and headers, with the workstation area including an open side adjacent the free ends of the headers.
Quarter turn track bracket (QTTB) for patient lifter ceiling track mechanism and methods thereof
It is often required in the medical industry to have devices, such as patient lifters, anchored to the ceiling. A system and method have been developed to resolve various challenges posed by installation of ceiling tracks intended to be used with patient lifters. The QTTB allows gaining in installation speed while increasing its inherent safety by the reduction of component hence the reduction of required human operations and verifications. The system comprises a bracket for supporting the track and a load, the bracket comprising a T-shaped member; and an attachment member affixed to the ceiling and adapted for receiving the bracket; the T-shaped member being adapted to rotate within the track from a first position to a second position, wherein, in the second position, the track is substantially unable to move along an axis of the attachment member. A tool may be used to rotate the bracket.
Drilling rig transfer system and method
A drilling rig transfer system includes a mobile transfer beam, a trolley assembly operatively attached to and moveable along the mobile transfer beam, and a connection mechanism suspended from the trolley assembly for connecting to and lifting a device. The mobile transfer beam is suspended from first and second traveling blocks through connections at first and second suspension positions along the mobile transfer beam. A method of transferring a device may include suspending a connection mechanism from the trolley assembly over a first location, lowering and attaching the connection mechanism to a device disposed at the first location, lifting the device with the connection mechanism, moving the trolley assembly along the mobile transfer beam to position the connection mechanism and the device over a second location, and lowering the connection mechanism and the device into the second location.
