The present invention addresses the problem of providing a crane that can ascertain the state of an area surrounding a hook or a cargo suspended on the hook and that can simultaneously ascertain a braking distance during stopping operations. The invention comprises: drive devices 31-34 that move a boom 7; a control apparatus 20 that controls the operation state of the drive devices 31-34; a camera 41 that photographs, from the distal end portion of the boom 7, an area below said portion; and image display devices 43 and 65 that display the image photographed by the camera 41. For the purpose of stopping the movement of the boom 7, the control apparatus 20 filters basic control signals S for the drive devices 31-34 to create filtered control signals Sf, controls the drive devices 31-34 on the basis of the filtered control signals Sf, estimates the braking distance for the boom 7, and displays the same on the image display devices 43 and 65.

A rough terrain crane is equipped with dashboard cameras and digital cameras for capturing bird's-eye view image thereof. The equipment performs, when a load factor reaching 90%, a process of recording start for starting image data recording with the digital camera and a process of storing measurement value for recording a load factor concurrently with the process of recording start. The image data is recorded with the digital camera associated with the above activation condition, among the digital cameras installed in the rough terrain crane.

Method of construction site monitoring, work machine, and system for construction site monitoring

The present disclosure relates to a method for real time monitoring of the current status of a construction site having one or more work machines, wherein a monitoring means installed at least one work machine monitors the environment of the work machine in real time and generates corresponding monitoring data, with the generated monitoring data being transmitted by the monitoring means to at least one processing unit for a real time evaluation of the current construction site status.

Crane

Provided is a crane capable of allowing an operator to recognize an error in work information or in a number of windings set in a safety device. A main tension of a main wire rope is calculated from a main output torque of a main winch, a sub output torque of a sub winch, a main drum winding radius of the main winch, and a sub drum winding radius of the sub winch. An estimated hanging load, which is calculated from the main tension, a sub tension of a sub wire rope and the number of windings of the wire rope set in a safety device, is compared with an actual hanging load calculated from fluctuating thrust force and boom information. Thus, the suitability of a work kind or a winding number set in the safety device is determined.

According to embodiments, an overhead lift includes a lift actuator; and a control system communicatively coupled to the lift actuator. The control system may include a control unit comprising a processor with a memory communicatively coupled to the processor and having computer readable and executable instructions and at least one transceiver communicatively coupling the control unit to at least one of a computer, a network, and a data storage device. The processor executes the computer readable and executable instructions to: determine at least one operating characteristic of the overhead lift and an operating time of the overhead lift as the overhead lift is actuated; determine an accumulated load-time parameter for the overhead lift based on the at least one operating characteristic and the operating time; and upload the accumulated load-time parameter to at least one of the computer, the network, and the data storage device.

STRUCTURAL EQUIPMENT LOAD MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A system for monitoring loading of equipment includes a transmitter assembly mounted to the equipment and a central server. The transmitter assembly has a strain gauge secured to the equipment, an on-board controller and a battery. The central server is in communication with the on-board controller. The central server is configured to receive collected loading data from the transmitter assembly. The on-board controller is configured to operate the transmitter assembly in a load monitoring power mode and a deep sleep mode. The on-board controller is configured to operate at a sleep interval when a load measured by the strain gauge is less than ten percent of a rated working load of the equipment and at an active interval when the load measured by the strain gauge is greater than ten percent of the rated working load. The sleep interval is less than the active interval.

Optical detection system for lift crane

A crane includes a carrier, a superstructure mounted on the carrier and including a boom, a cable extending from the boom, a lifting appliance coupled to the cable, and an optical detection system. The optical detection system includes an image capture device configured to capture an image, and an optical detection computer configured to detect one or more objects in the captured image, the one or more objects selected from: the lifting appliance, the cable, a load coupled to the lifting appliance, an object remote from the crane and a marker. The computer is also configured to analyze the one or more detected objects and determine a condition of a crane component based on the analysis of the one or more detected objects. Methods of determining the condition of the crane component and controlling crane operation are also included.
