PORTABLE DAVIT

A portable davit includes a base having a mounting portion and a housing. The housing defines a cavity. An end of a mast is positioned within the cavity. A jib is coupled to another end of the mast. A connector is coupled to the jib. A hoist is coupled to a platform and includes a drive and a rope. An end of the rope is wound about the drive. Another end of the rope is coupled to the connector. The drive is configured to rotate relative to the platform in a first direction to decrease a distance between the platform and an end of the jib and to rotate relative to the platform in an opposite second direction to increase the distance between the platform and an end of the jib. Systems and methods of use are provided.

PORTABLE DAVIT

A portable davit includes a base having a mounting portion and a housing coupled to the mounting portion. The housing include an inner surface defining a cavity. A hoist is positioned within the cavity. The hoist includes a drive and a rope. The rope includes opposite first and second ends. The first end of the rope is wound about the drive. A mast includes opposite first and second ends. The first end of the mast is positioned within the cavity. The mast includes an inner surface defining a passageway. A jib includes opposite first and second ends. The first end of the jib is coupled to the second end of the mast. The second end of the rope extends through an opening in the second end of the jib.

CONFINED-SPACE DAVIT

A confined-space davit, including a vertical, elongate mast provided by at least one annular tube; and, a boom that is pivotally connected to an upper end portion of the mast and that extends forwardly from the mast. The tube comprises a forward wall and an opposing rearward wall and comprises left and right opposing lateral sidewalls that each connect the forward wall to the rearward wall.

Pipe lifting and orienting apparatus and method

A pipe lifting apparatus and method related thereto are provided, wherein the pipe has a base with outriggers, a vertically extending beam having a pulley at its upper end and a cable attached to a winch and extending over the pulley. The pulley and winch are oriented so that the cable extends naturally in line with a vertex between two of the outriggers such that, when a pipe in a vertical sleeve is attached to the distal end and is lifted by the cable, the pipe passes adjacent to the vertex. The apparatus is configured to raise pipes from a vertical pipe sleeve used in floating roofs of above-ground storage tanks. The apparatus can be used to raise and lower pipes and to move them around the upper surface of the floating roof of the tanks.

OVERHEAD SYSTEM FOR OPERATOR-ROBOT TASK COLLABORATION

An overhead system assists an operator in moving an object when the operator imparts a manual force to the object in a shared workspace characterized by overlapping ranges of motion of the robot and operator. The system includes an articulated serial robot, a cable, sensors, and a control system. One end of the cable connects to a distal end link of the robot. Another end of the cable connects to the object to suspend the object. The sensors measure a cable force and/or angle. The control system regulates operation of the robot by translating vertically and horizontally in response to the cable force and/or angle. The control system limits the position and/or velocity of the end link according to corresponding work space rules, including respective position and velocity limits, such that the system is immune to a single-point failure.
