A safety device for a mobile crane has: a permitted work range setting unit that, in accordance with whether or not the overhang angle of each outrigger is a reference overhang angle and the overhang length is the maximum overhang length, sets the permitted work range/non-permitted work range of a crane boom; and a load-specific work range setting unit that, in accordance with whether or not each of the outriggers overhang lengths is a maximum overhang length, sets a maximum RTL work range which is a range, within the permitted work range, in which crane work at a maximum rated total load can be carried out. The crane work capacity on the side of the outrigger having the maximum hangover length with high supporting capacity can be fully utilized within a range over which safety can be ensured.

The braking control unit judges whether or not a turning judgment requirement for judging whether or not the upper turning body is performing a turning motion is satisfied, and performs a braking operation invalidation control to invalidate the braking operation applied to the brake operation device when judging the turning motion is being performed.

PARKING BRAKE DEVICE AND WORK MACHINE EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME

Provided is a parking brake apparatus installable on a work machine. The parking brake apparatus includes: a parking brake switchable between a braking state of braking the turning of an upper turning body and a braking release state; a brake operation device to which a braking operation and a braking release operation for switching the parking brake to the braking state and the braking release state, respectively, is applied by an operator; and a braking control unit. The control gear is engaged with a slew gear of the slewing ring such that the control gear rotates in response to rotation of the boom. The hydraulic line is in fluid communication with the first valve and the hydraulic motor. Depending on whether the first valve is in an open or a closed configuration, hydraulic fluid is either free to pass, or is restrained from passing, through the first hydraulic line to the hydraulic motor.
