Low Headroom Hook Block for Wire Rope Hoist
A hook block assembly for use in low overhead applications. The hook block assembly is designed for use with a wire rope hoist system and has a first sheave assembly and a second sheave assembly adjustably mounted on a crosshead with spacers for varying the distance between the sheaves on the sheave assembly. The hook block assembly is designed for use with girders or beams having flanges with different widths. The spacers provide for adjusting the distance between the sheaves on the first and second sheave assemblies to maintain a sufficient angle of loading for permissible tension on the wire ropes.
Offshore floating vessel and a method of operating the same
An offshore floating vessel includes a hoisting system including a drive for moving connecting device and emergency brakes to inhibit motion of the connecting device; wherein the hoisting system is to be operated at least in a hoisting mode and in an active heave compensation mode; wherein hoisting system is to perform an active heave compensation when operated in the active heave compensation mode and to operate without active heave compensation when operated in the hoisting mode; wherein the emergency brakes are operable in a normally-energized mode including a de-energized state where the emergency brakes engage so as to inhibit motion of the connecting device relative to the floating vessel; wherein the hoisting system is operable in a fixed-to-bottom mode; wherein the hoisting system is to perform an active heave compensation when operated in fixed-to-bottom mode; and wherein the hoisting system is adapted to prevent the emergency brakes from engaging.
LIFTING GEAR
A lifting gear having a hoist cable, which descends in at least two strands from a tackle support, in particular a trolley, and also having a bottom block, which is reeved on the hoist cable and on which a load-bearing means is fitted. The strands of the hoist cable are at a different distance apart from one another at the bottom block than at the tackle support. Arranged between the bottom block and the tackle support is a strand-distance guide for compensating for the different strand distances at the bottom block and at the tackle support and for guiding the cable strands substantially parallel to one another on one side of the strand-distance guide and splayed apart in a V shape in relation to one another on the opposite side of the strand-distance guide.
Double-reeved lifting device with an improved pawl-locking mechanism
A double-reeved lifting device includes a lower reeve block secured to a lifting hook and an upper reeve block, wherein the two reeve blocks are part of a mechanical reversible connection system to be reversibly configurable between a connected configuration and a disconnected configuration, with a locking mechanism and a complementary locking structure supporting a locking member. The locking mechanism includes a chassis having a locking channel provided with a mouthpiece through which the locking member can enter and exit and can slide in the locking channel respectively during a relative approach and distancing between the two reeve blocks. A pawl is pivotally mounted on the chassis to pivot inside the locking channel and is provided with a free end capable of being engaged with the locking member. A thrust stop assembly and elastic return member push on the pawl.
