A vertically movable workpiece support device has a ratchet wheel with a larger diameter than the outer diameter of a driving sprocket wheel and is concentrically attached to an end surface of a boss portion in the driving sprocket wheel. A pair of left and right bearing members are provided side by side, on a side on which the free end side of a drive chain is horizontally extended with respect to the driving sprocket wheel, so as to sandwich a horizontally extending path section of the drive chain. A movable pawl is pivotally supported between the pair of left and right bearing members and engages with the ratchet wheel to block the rotation of the ratchet wheel caused by the movement of the drive chain when the workpiece support base is lowered. An actuator switches the movable pawl to a non-action position with respect to the ratchet wheel.

Platform twist detection and mitigation method and apparatus

A platform twist mitigation apparatus operable to extend jacks into engagement with a surface disposed below a platform carrying the jacks, and to alternately extend and retract the jacks to change platform attitude relative to the surface. Tilt sensors are supported at spaced locations on the platform. An electronic control module is programmed to detect a platform twist condition in response to angle data received from the tilt sensors and to mitigate the platform twist condition by operating or modifying the operation of the jacks.

A hoist for removing an object to enable an individual to work on the object includes a first substantially vertical support mounted on a floor surface. A second substantially vertical support mounted on the floor surface and being spaced a predetermined distance away from the first substantially vertical support. The first and second substantially vertical supports include an upper surface. A substantially horizontal member extending across the upper surfaces of the first and second substantially vertical supports. A first vertical lift is operatively positioned within the first substantially vertical support. A second vertical lift is operatively positioned within the second substantially vertical support. The first and second vertical lifts selectively raising the member relative to the floor surface. A winch is operatively mounted on the substantially horizontal member for lifting the object relative to the member for enabling an individual to work on the object.

A passenger conveyor lifting device lifts a unit that includes a frame body constituting at least one lengthwise direction part of a main frame of a passenger conveyor, and a unit device supported by the frame body. The lifting device includes a lifting attachment fitting and a lifting rope. The lifting attachment fitting includes a pair of attachment bases attached detachably to respective upper surfaces of a pair of side frame portions constituting respective width direction end portions of the frame body, and a reinforcing member connecting the pair of attachment bases above the unit device disposed between the pair of side frame portions. The lifting rope lifts the unit while hooked to the respective side frame portions.

Drilling rig and method of use

An improved system and method for bracing, transporting, assembling, and disassembly of drilling equipment at oil and gas land-based well sites. The system has a substructure with side boxes support bracing that are in a scissor jack (or grand pli) style bracing with telescoping tension link(s), linking pins, and vertical hydraulic cylinders. These linking pins are set after raising the substructure and secure the telescoping tension link, support arms, and support bracing in place to maintain the integrity of the substructure. Alternatively the system has a substructure with side boxes support bracing that are in a scissor jack (or grand pli) style bracing with screw jacks and a means of stabilization during substructure raising. The substructure bracing reduces the overall length, reduces the upper and lower box spans, and balances the raising loads, subsequently lowering the transport weight of the side box such that a commercial walking system may be integrated into the side box and remain there during transport while maximizing the operating drill floor height while minimizing the transport height.
