The present invention provides methods and apparatus for cleaning and sanitizing potable water devices/appliances by recirculating and pulsing a rejuvenation solution through the device/appliance using a portable apparatus comprising a mechanical pump fluidly connected to the device/appliance.

Disinfecting devices and related methods are provided that apply germicidal ultraviolet light to disinfect dispensing components of food and beverage dispensers. A disinfecting holster for a bar gun includes a support surface configured to interface with a bar gun to support the bar gun when stowed in the holster, a housing coupled with the support surface and surrounding a dispensing nozzle of the bar gun when the bar gun is stowed in the holster, and an ultraviolet light source configured to emit germicidal ultraviolet light onto the nozzle. The housing substantially contains the ultraviolet light within the housing during the application of the ultraviolet light to the dispensing nozzle. The ultraviolet light can be periodically applied to maintain the nozzle in a disinfected state.

Further, the present invention is directed to a method for beverage production with the beverage production device (200).

The present invention provides acidic or basic cleaning compositions for use in cleaning food and beverage industry processing equipment and pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry processing equipment wherein the compositions of the invention comprise a food-equipment-safe acidic or basic cleaning compound and a food-equipment-safe colorimetric indicator of pH to show the desired acid or basic conditions during storage prior to the start of a cleaning cycle and after storage and during a cleaning cycle. The cleaning compositions of the invention are particularly useful in, for example, CIP cleaning processes.

A cleaning system for a beverage dispenser, the system comprising: a water source; a cleaner solution source and/or a sanitizer solution source; at least one cleanable ingredient circuit of the beverage dispenser which is in fluid connection with the water source, and the cleaner solution source and/or sanitizer solution source; a first conduit for connecting the water source to the at least one cleanable ingredient circuit via a sensor; at least one second conduit for connecting the cleaner solution source and/or sanitizer solution source to the first conduit via at least one pump prior to the sensor, thereby forming a mixture of the water, a cleaner solution, and/or a sanitizing solution; and a controller for: (a) receiving a first signal from the sensor representative of electrical conductivity of the mixture, whereby the controller calculates a dilution ratio of the mixture from the electrical conductivity; and/or (b) receiving a second signal from the sensor indicative of a flow rate of the mixture passing through the sensor via the first conduit.

A water heating system is provided. The water heating system includes an inlet connectable to a supply of untreated water, supply and return lines connectable to a point-of-use water treatment system, and an output for dispensing a supply of treated and optionally heated water. An internal heating element is adapted to heat the treated water to one of a plurality of pre-selected temperature settings. Temperature control can be achieved by cycling the power applied to the heating element and/or controlling the flow rate of treated water through the heating element. The water heating system includes additional improvements in electrical compatibility, energy consumption, and remote failure detection.

The present invention is further directed to a beverage preparation device (1) comprising the beverage mixing device (2), a liquid supply (20), at least one or a plurality of product supplies (40), a gas supply (50), and a drainage (60). Also, the present invention is directed to a method for preparing a beverage product using the beverage preparation device according to the invention.
