Systems, apparatuses and methods for increasing potential payout opportunities using multiple card indicia representing multiple cards. One embodiment involves determining whether any one or more of a plurality of cards of a poker game having multiple poker hands are to be randomly provided with multiple card indicia representing multiple cards, presenting the plurality of cards of the poker hands, including the one or more of the plurality of cards determined to be randomly provided with multiple card indicia, and identifying a plurality of resulting hands for each of the multiple poker hands that include a multiple card indicia, where each of the plurality of resulting hands includes a different subset of a total of the indicia of the other cards in the respective poker hand and any cards provided with multiple card indicia.

Methods and apparatuses for including zero-value playing cards in various playing card games are disclosed. Wagering techniques, playing strategies, and other game play may be changed based on the inclusion of zero-value cards in various card games.

A method for playing a hold 'em card game with two hands provides a variant to a standard hold 'em card game by dealing four hole cards to a player, with each set of hole cards being independently played, bet, raised, or folded in relation to the same community cards. An initial round of wagering occurs, followed by dealing four hole cards to each player. The hole cards are played independently of each other. There is another round of betting, before a turn and a river are also dealt. If the dealer's best of five hands exceeds a poker hand ranking of the player's, the player forfeits the wager. If the player's best of five hands exceeds the dealer's, the player receives an equal amount of units to the wager.

A hybrid card game apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a playing surface having a set of card hand stations on which playing cards can be positioned, the set of card hand stations being distributed around a dealer position at a side edge of the playing surface, wherein a distance between the dealer position and a nearest edge of each of the set of card hand stations is at most 36 inches, a card sensor system positioned near each of the set of card hand stations to sense an identity of the playing cards positioned face down on the card hand station and generate card identification data enabling identification of the playing cards positioned on the card hand station. The machine core is arranged on the base or inside the base, and the machine core includes a card receptor and a card dealer. The machine core can be driven to move up and down on the base by a machine core lifting drive mechanism. X-Squared is a unique mathematical card deck and methods for using the deck to play games.
