TRACKING POSITION OF DEVICE INSIDE-OUT FOR AUGMENTED REALITY INTERACTIVITY
Methods, systems, and computer programs are provided for generating an interactive space. One method includes identifying a reference point in a three-dimensional (3D) space using a portable device. The reference point is calibrated to an origin point of the portable device. The method includes determining by the device a position and an orientation of the portable device at the origin point. The position and orientation is determined using data from an inertial sensor of the portable device and data from the camera. The method includes generating by the portable device an augmented reality (AR) space using the reference point. The AR space includes virtual objects imposed over or in the 3D space.

Modified chess game with additional game pieces
A chess-like game may include a new piece having powers and limitations not present in conventional chess pieces. The game may include a game board having ten columns and eight rows. The game may further include two sets of game pieces, each set comprising a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, two additional game pieces (AGP), and ten pawns. An initial setting of the pieces may include random positioning. The game may include restrictions that limit the movement of one or more pieces.

Method and apparatus for performing interaction in chessboard interface
A method for performing interaction in a chessboard interface includes: detecting an operation of triggering a chessboard interface to select an interaction area; locating a square in which the operation is located; determining a first movement amount of the square, where the first movement amount is obtained by counting movement operations of a user performed on squares in the chessboard interface; and magnifying the chessboard interface according to the first movement amount.

FOOTBALL BOARD GAME
A football-style chess game and method for opposed players includes an eight-by-eight checkerboard-style game board having an End Zone at each player end of the board, two sets of game pieces, each set including conventional chess pieces, e.g. a Quarterback (QB), a Fullback (FB), a Running Back (RB), a Wide Receiver/Defensive Back (WR/DB), a Linebacker (LB), and eight Front Line (FL) pieces. A method is also disclosed wherein the chess game is played for a fixed duration of time, and points (dollar values) are awarded to the players. The player having the highest cumulative point total at the end of the game is then declared the winner. A method is also disclosed for adapting the chess game for play electronically, such as through a global network of computers.

Apparatus and method for playing betting and bluffing card games with strategy board game mechanics
The present invention combines the elements of strategy board games and round based betting and bluffing card games into a unified structure which yields turn based games that are easy and fun for humans to learn and play but hard for computers to master.
Turn-based portable board game
A board game and method of playing the board game are described. The board and pieces are magnetic and waterproof, enabling the game to be played in most human settings. Players of the board game move their pieces around the board and interact with other pieces according to the game rules including attacking other players pieces, removing other player pieces from the playing field, locating neutral pieces, moving neutral pieces, and bringing more pieces into the game. The invention encompasses adapting the board game rules to play the game in a digital format on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
