NANOPORE DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A 3D nanopore device for characterizing biopolymer molecules includes a first selecting layer having a first axis of selection. The device also includes a second selecting layer disposed adjacent the first selecting layer and having a second axis of selection orthogonal to the first axis of selection. The device further includes an third electrode layer disposed adjacent the second selecting layer, such that the first selecting layer, the second selecting layer, and the third electrode layer form a stack of layers along a Z axis and define a plurality of nanopore pillars.
METHOD TO REDUCE PORE DIAMETER USING ATOMIC LAYER DEPOSITION AND ETCHING
Methods are provided for manufacturing well-controlled, solid-state nanopores and arrays of well-controlled, solid-state nanopores by a cyclic process including atomic layer deposition (ALD), or chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and etching. One or more features are formed in a thin film deposited on a topside of a substrate. A dielectric material is deposited over the substrate having the one or more features in the thin film. An etching process is then used to etch a portion of the dielectric material deposited over the substrate having the one or more features in the thin film. The dielectric material deposition and etching processes are optionally repeated to reduce the size of the features until a well-controlled nanopore is formed through the thin film on the substrate.
NANOTEXTURED MATERIALS
A material with nanopillar structures extending from a substrate. The nanopillars are engageable by organisms to cause an interaction, such as cellular destruction.

STABILIZED METAL MONOLAYER STRUCTURE AND THE MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A stabilized elementary metal structure is disclosed. The stabilized elementary metal structure may include an elementary metal having at least one layer and having a two-dimensional layer structure, and an organic molecular layer provided on at least one of a top surface and a bottom surface of the elementary metal.
Build sequences for mechanosynthesis
Methods for creating build sequences which are determined using computational chemistry algorithms to simulate mechanosynthetic reactions, and which may use the mechanosynthesis process conditions or equipment limitations in these simulations, and which facilitate determining a set of mechanosynthetic reactions that will build an atomically-precise workpiece with a desired degree of reliability. Included are methods for error correction of pathological reactions or avoidance of pathological reactions. Libraries of reactions may be used to reduce simulation requirements.
Process for fabricating vertically-aligned gallium arsenide semiconductor nanowire array of large area
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a GaAs semiconductor nanowire in a bottom-up type and, more particularly, to a method for manufacturing a vertically-aligned gallium arsenide semiconductor nanowire array in a large area by applying a voltage and a current from the outside using a metal thin film, which has been made through an economical method of fabricating a mesh-type metal thin film in a large area, as an anode such that holes (h.sup.+) are injected into a gallium arsenide substrate, thereby inducing a wet etching process continuously. The obtained vertically-aligned gallium arsenide semiconductor nanowire of a large area can be applied to fabrication of nanoelements, such as a solar cell, a transistor, and a light-emitting diode.
NANO-FLUIDIC DEVICE AND CHEMICAL ANALYSIS APPARATUS
A nano-fluidic device includes: a first substrate that has a nanoscale groove on one surface; and a second substrate that is integrally provided with the first substrate by bonding one surface of the second substrate to the one surface of the first substrate and forms a nanochannel with the groove of the first substrate, in which either the first substrate or the second substrate includes at least a thin portion in a part of a position overlapping the nanochannel in plan view, and the thin portion is deformed by pressing to open and close the nanochannel.
