Method and apparatus for improved effluent free sea water desalination
A system has a first plate heat exchanger at a first pressure to heat a fluid containing dissolved solids to form a heated fluid at a temperature below the boiling point of the fluid. A vaporization chamber is connected to the first plate heat exchanger. The vaporization chamber is at a second pressure below the first pressure. The vaporization chamber receives the heated fluid and produces a gaseous component substantially free of dissolved solids and a solids component. A compressor is connected to the vaporization chamber. The compressor receives the gaseous component and produces a fluidic output. The first plate heat exchanger has plates forming chambers. A manifold arrangement distributes an unprocessed fluid from the vaporization chamber to a first subset of the chambers and distributes the fluidic output from the compressor to a second subset of the chambers.
Evaporation panel securing systems
Evaporation panel securing system can include first and second evaporation panels, and a security fastener to secure a male connector (first evaporation panel) within a female-receiving opening (second evaporation panel) in an orthogonally joined orientation, for example. The evaporation panels can include a plurality of evaporation shelves that are laterally elongated, vertically stacked, spaced apart from one another, and horizontally oriented; a plurality of vertical support columns positioned laterally along the plurality of evaporation shelves to provide support and separation to the plurality of evaporation shelves; a plurality of female-receiving openings individually bordered by two evaporation shelves and two support columns; and a plurality of male connectors positioned laterally at ends of the plurality of evaporation panels, wherein the male connectors of the first evaporation panel are releasably joinable with female-receiving openings of the second evaporation panel.
CLOSED-LOOP THERMAL SERVICING OF SOLVENT-REFINING COLUMNS
A system for thermally servicing a solvent-refining column includes: a first solvent-refining column, a closed-loop water-steam system; a first heat-exchanger thermally coupling the closed-loop water-steam system to the top of the first solvent-refining column, a second heat-exchanger thermally coupling the closed-loop water-steam system to a bottom of the first solvent-refining column, and a compressor positioned between the first heat-exchanger and the second heat-exchanger. The first heat-exchanger boils pressurized water to steam by transferring first heat from the top of the first solvent-refining column to the closed-loop water- steam system. The compressor compresses the steam in the closed-loop water-steam system to a higher temperature. The second heat-exchanger provides second heat to the first solvent-refining column by condensing the steam at the bottom of the first solvent-refining column after compression by the compressor.
Closed-loop thermal servicing of solvent-refining columns
A method of thermally servicing a solvent-refining column comprises: running a closed-loop water-steam system past a top and bottom of a first column, the first column containing at least a solvent and impurities; boiling pressurized water in the closed-loop water-steam system to steam using first heat from the top of the first column; compressing the steam in the closed-loop water-steam system to a higher temperature; and providing second heat to the first column by condensing the steam at the bottom of the first column after compression.
SOLVENT DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for decontaminating a fluid like a non-azeotrope solvent such as water, wherein a transport gas is maintained at a temperature between the freezing point and boiling point at atmospheric pressure of the solvent and continuously circulated between an evaporation chamber and a condensation chamber, a contaminated solvent is introduced into the transport gas in the evaporation chamber under process heat and contaminant precipitates out, and the cleaned solvent cools in the condensation chamber releasing heat to be used in the evaporation chamber. A heat pump is used to promote evaporation and condensation within the system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEPARATING COMPONENTS FROM FLUID STREAMS
Systems and methods for separating components from a fluid stream are described. The systems and methods described herein may be specifically well suited for separating solids, hydrocarbons, chemicals, non-evaporable components, etc., from wastewater produced by oil and gas recovery. The systems and methods may generally include the use of a heat exchanger through which a fluid stream is passed to thereby evaporate some or all of the fluid stream. The heated stream exiting the heat exchanger may include vapor, liquids and/or solids. This heated stream is then subjected to phase separation to separate a vapor stream from a liquid/solids stream. The vapor stream is then transported back to the heat exchanger where it is used to transfer heat from the vapor stream to the fluid stream. During the operation of the heat exchanger, a scraping system may be used to scrape the one or more surfaces of the passage through which the fluid stream flows in order to prevent buildup of solids and liquids thereon.
SYSTEM FOR UTILIZING CARBON DIOXIDE OF FLUE GAS CAPTURED BY COLD HEAT OF LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS
A system captures carbon dioxide from a flue gas of a power generation facility by using cold heat of liquefied natural gas and utilizes the captured carbon dioxide for mining natural gas, using heat of the flue gas to regasify the LNG. Solidified dry ice is captured from gaseous carbon dioxide contained in the flue gas, and the captured dry ice is used as filler when mining natural gas. The system includes a mining facility, a vehicle to transport LNG liquefied by the mining facility; and a facility for regasifying the transported LNG and capturing dry ice from the carbon dioxide. In the regasification and capture facility, the flue gas exchanges heat with the LNG, thereby regasifying the LNG at an increased temperature and capturing the dry ice from the carbon dioxide. The captured dry ice is transported to the mining facility, which uses it for mining the natural gas.
Steam heating type sewage treatment device
A steam heating type sewage treatment device includes: a treatment tank connected to a sewage supply pipe, a stirring device disposed in the treatment tank; a steam heating device disposed on an outer surface of the treatment tank; a vacuuming device fixed to a top of the treatment tank and connected to the treatment tank via a first connecting pipe; a heating device connected to the treatment tank by a second connecting pipe and connected to a steam storage tank by a third connecting pipe, and a fourth connecting pipe connected between the steam input pipe and the steam storage tank to recycle the steam. The heating device pressurizes or heats the steam entering the vacuuming device and the connecting pipes, and the heated steam is guided by pipes into the steam heating device, thus achieving the effect of steam recycling.
Hybrid desalination system
The hybrid desalination system is a desalination system for seawater which uses both filtering and treatment from a reverse osmosis filter system as well as evaporative distillation for the production of potable water. The hybrid desalination system includes a recovery system, which may be a reverse osmosis system, a forward osmosis system, or a combination thereof, for at least partially desalinating a volume of saltwater and outputting a treated fluid. A boiler is in fluid communication with the recovery system for receiving the treated fluid and producing pure water by evaporative desalination.
