DISTILLATION COLUMN HAVING REMOVABLE TRAY ASSEMBLY

A distillation column and tray assembly is disclosed herein. The distillation column includes a removable inner tray assembly with adjustable downcomer tubes. The removable tray assembly enables the user to selectively change distillation plates when so removed. When removed, a distiller or brewer may adjust the downcomer tubes to change the fluid level on the distillation plates, or bypass certain distillation plates completely. Certain embodiments of the invention include a feature of an O-ring recessed around a perimeter of the plates permitting a tight seal and reducing manufacturing costs.

A multi-plate scrubber is provided, and more particularly, a multi-plate scrubber including plates having different shapes to purify polluting gas is provided. According to the multi-plate scrubber, the polluting gas is effectively purified by increasing chances of contact between the polluting gas and circulating water by using various plates having different shapes.

COLUMN INTERNALS MOUNTING ANGLE

An assembly kit for installation of two column trays in a column with an upper column tray can include at least one first downcomer with at least one downcomer wall, and with a lower column tray which is disposed vertically spaced beneath the upper column tray and connected thereto. The assembly kit can include at least one column internals mounting angle having at least one first mounting point, at least one second mounting point, and an adjustment device for adjusting a vertical distance between the at least one first mounting point and the at least one second mounting point, where the column internals mounting angle is attached with the at least one first mounting point to the downcomer wall and is connected with the at least one second mounting point to the lower column tray.

CONTACT TRAY FOR A MASS TRANSFER COLUMN
20190192991 · 2019-06-27 · ·

A contact tray for use in a mass transfer column and having a tray deck for receiving a liquid stream and a plurality of valves distributed across the tray deck through which vapor ascends for interacting with the liquid stream. Each valve has an opening in the tray deck in the form of a central segment and extensions that extend outwardly from opposite ends of the central segment. The valves each include a valve body with a valve cover positioned in covering relationship above and extending outwardly beyond the opening and legs that are attached to the valve cover at recesses located at opposite ends of the valve cover. The legs extend downwardly through the extensions in the opening and include stops in portions of the legs positioned below the tray deck to permit limited vertical movement of the legs to allow the valve body to move between open and closed positions in response to ascending vapor pressure against an undersurface of the valve cover. Deflectors are positioned at opposite sides of the legs to restrict vapor passage around the legs.

TRAY FOR EXCHANGE COLUMN COMPRISING GAS CHIMNEYS SURMOUNTED BY HATS WITH A STREAMLINED PROFILE
20190184331 · 2019-06-20 · ·

A tray (100) for a gas/liquid contact column, comprising a plurality of chimneys (108) jutting over a portion (101) of the upper face of the tray for the exclusive passage of gas through the tray; they are substantially parallelepipedal and mutually parallel. At least one of the chimneys (108) is surmounted by an elevated hat (108) with a streamlined profile which prevents the passage of liquid through the chimney. The hat comprises a lower body (180) which is substantially semi-cylindrical, elongated along the longitudinal axis Y and open towards the top, extended laterally by two planar fins (181, 182) inclined towards the axis of revolution (R) of the lower body at an angle in the range 0 to 30 with respect to the axis Z passing through the chimneys, aligned with their height.

GAS-DISTRIBUTING TRAY FOR THE BOTTOM OF A GAS/LIQUID CONTACT COLUMN COMPRISING A ZONE FOR COLLECTING LIQUID PARTIALLY OVERLAPPED BY GAS CHIMNEYS
20190168131 · 2019-06-06 · ·

The invention relates to a gas-distributing tray (20) for a column for exchange of heat and/or of material between a gas and a liquid, comprising several protruding chimneys (80) which are substantially parallelepipedal and parallel to one another over a portion (21) of the upper face of the tray for the exclusive passage of the gas (g) through the tray and a zone for collecting the liquid (90) comprising two diametrically opposite weirs (91, 92) for collecting the said liquid (l) on the said tray. The chimneys each comprise an element for distribution of the gas (82) partially overlapping the zone for collecting the said liquid.

The invention also relates to an exchange column comprising such a distributing tray and to the use of such a column.
