DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR SEPARATION AND PURIFICATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM BOTANICAL MATERIAL
The botanical extraction and purification device described in this patent provide the ability to extract and purify botanical compounds from a diverse plant species through specially crafted process sequences that effectively reach the desired botanical component despite differences in botanical material types and unique differences in organic chemical characteristics. The technological package consists of two main processing centers; each is a combination of process features that can be personalized to effectively address unique extraction requirements. When combined, the extraction processes deliver capabilities in product throughput speed and product purity not available using previously available separation methods. The first component of this package is a CUP that transfers chemical compounds from botanical material into a solvent. The second component is an AISP. This device separates unwanted botanical compounds from the solvent, resulting in a relatively pure plant extract.
EXTRACTING ESSENTIAL OILS
A system and method for extracting essential oils from organic material is provided. One embodiment places organic material into an extraction chamber that is a cylindrical wall of rigid material, wherein a diameter and a height of the extraction chamber is sized to define an interior that accommodates a desired amount of an organic material having essential oils; fills the extraction chamber with a solvent after the organic matter has been placed into the extraction chamber; and moves a vortex plunger disposed over the surface of the organic material in a repeated upward and downward motion during an agitation process so that the vortex vanes generate a fluid vortex in the solvent, wherein the fluid vortex causes the solvent to be drawn upward into the organic material and then to be pushed downward through the organic material so that the solvent extracts essential oils from the organic material.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING OIL FROM PLANT MATERIAL
A process and apparatus for extracting plant oil from plant material by cooling an alcohol solvent to a temperature of −40° C. or lower, contacting the plant material with the cold solvent to extract plant oil to provide a solvent and plant oil mixture, heating the mixture to convert the solvent to a gaseous state to thereby separate the solvent from the plant oil, and cooling the separated gaseous solvent to a liquid to recover the solvent. The apparatus may include a heat exchanger to cool the alcohol solvent, a centrifuge configured to receive and contact a batch of plant material with the cold solvent to extract oil from the plant material to provide a solvent and oil mixture, and a programmable logic controller to monitor and control the temperature of the cold solvent, control the centrifuge to agitate the solvent in contact with the plant material for a period of time and to rotate for a period of time to separate the mixture from the plant material. A process and apparatus may also decarboxylate the separated plant oil.
APPARATUS FOR EXTRACTING OIL FROM PLANT MATERIAL
A plant oil extraction apparatus may include a volatile solvent tank, an oil bearing plant material container for receiving at least some of the volatile solvent, a chiller for cooling volatile solvent to a liquid state in contact with the oil bearing plant material, a vessel for collecting at least some of the mixture of volatile solvent and plant material, a heater for heating at least liquid state volatile solvent to a gas state, a compressor for compressing volatile solvent gas to a higher pressure, and a heat exchanger to cool and condense at least part of the compressed solvent gas to a liquid state and to return at least part of the condensed liquid volatile solvent to the solvent tank. The cycling of the apparatus may at least in part be controlled by an electronic controller and a human machine interface may be used by an operator to input data to the electronic controller.

Separation of copper and molybdenum sulfides from pyrite using a sea water/desalinated water hybrid process
A copper/molybdenum separation system uses sea water in the roughing circuit and desalinated water in cleaning circuit. In both roughing circuit and cleaning circuit, hydrophobic engineered media are used to recover the mineral particles of interest. The cleaning circuit includes a molybdenum loading stage configured to contact the conditioned pulp with the engineered media in an agitated reaction chamber, and load the hydrophobic molybdenite on the engineered media.
