11786838 · 2023-10-17 · ·

Systems and methods for removing one or more pesticides from a cannabis product are provided. The method includes dissolving, in a solvent, a cannabis product including one or more pesticides, forming a dissolved solution, and cooling the dissolved solution to a cooling temperature, causing the cannabis product to precipitate from the dissolved solution, wherein, at the cooling temperature, the one or more pesticides remain dissolved in the dissolving solution. The method further includes removing the precipitated cannabis product from the dissolving solution. The disclosed method is suitable for removing one or more pesticides from various cannabis products containing natural cannabinoids, cannabinoids acetates, cannabinoid carboxylates, or the like.

Plant extract compositions and methods of preparation thereof

Embodiments described herein relate generally to plant extract compositions and methods to isolate cutin-derived monomers, oligomers, and mixtures thereof for application in agricultural coating formulations, and in particular, to methods of preparing plant extract compositions that include functionalized and non-functionalized fatty acids and fatty esters (as well as their oligomers and mixtures thereof), which are substantially free from accompanying plant-derived compounds (e.g., proteins, polysaccharides, phenols, lignans, aromatic acids, terpenoids, flavonoids, carotenoids, alkaloids, alcohols, alkanes, and aldehydes) and can be used in agricultural coating formulations.

Refiner for lactose and high lactose products

An example method for refining lactose may include washing lactose crystals in a lactose stream in an upstream wash stream including an upstream recirculating wash medium. Washed lactose crystals may be sieved from the upstream recirculating wash medium. The upstream recirculating wash medium may be recirculated back to the upstream wash stream. The washed lactose crystals may be discharged to a downstream wash stream comprising a downstream recirculating wash medium. An example system may include a plurality of refining stages. At least one refining stage may include a washing tank including a lactose crystal inlet and a crystal slurry outlet. The refining stage may include a pump to recirculate a wash stream from the crystal slurry outlet back to the washing tank at a predetermined flow rate. The refining stage includes a screen to separate washed lactose crystals from the wash stream.

MICROWAVE EXTRACTION OF ESSENTIAL OILS
20230287298 · 2023-09-14 ·

A method of extracting an essential oil from plant matter, starting with providing plant matter to an interior of an extraction vessel, wherein the plant matter includes at least one essential oil. Next, at least one vacuum pump is used to reduce the pressure within the interior of the extraction vessel with the plant matter therein to an absolute pressure of less than 400 mm Hg absolute pressure. Microwave energy is applied to the plant matter while the interior of the extraction vessel is under the reduced pressure, thereby forming a vapor including at least a portion of the essential oil. The vapor is directed from the extraction vessel to at least one condenser vessel. Finally, the vapor is condensed to a liquid state such that the vapor includes at least a portion of the essential oil, by utilizing the at least one condenser vessel.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CANNABIS EXTRACTION
20230330560 · 2023-10-19 ·

This disclosure provides methods and systems for the supercritical fluid extraction of cannabinoids from cannabis. The supercritical fluid extraction of cannabinoids is performed with carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) balanced with one or more hydrocarbons, such as propane, propene, and propadiene. As demonstrated, the extraction can be carried out at maximum efficiency and energy savings while keeping the wax formation at minimum by lowering temperature. The methods and systems disclosed herein reduce the production time and safety/environmental hazards and are suitable for proper and safe extraction in non-GMP and GMP environments.

EXTRACTION OF ALKALOIDS USING AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF CARBONIC ACID

An extraction method that uses only purified water and carbon dioxide whereby an aqueous solution of carbonic acid is used to extract alkaloids from biomatter is disclosed.

ISOLATION OF CANNABINOIDS USING MESOPOROUS MATERIALS

The invention relates to a simple, cost-effective and eco-friendly process of recovering one or more cannabinoids from complex natural products, especially cannabidiol (CBD) and/or cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) from raw Cannabis plant material or extracts thereof.

System and Method for Continuous Stirred Tank Solvent Extraction Using Feedstock
20230149828 · 2023-05-18 ·

A feedstock processing system extracts a product from a solid using a CTSE system comprising a plurality of continuous stirred tank extraction stages arranged in fluid communication with each other in series such that effluent from one stage flows to a next stage in the series. One of the stages has an inlet to allow a measured amount of liquid solvent and the solid to be introduced to the continuous stirred tank extraction stage. The stage mixes the solid with the introduced solvent to form a homogeneous slurry to enable the product associated with the solid to be extracted with the solvent. A solid—liquid separator is arranged in fluid communication with the continuous stirred tank extraction stages, and receives an effluent from one of the stages and separates the liquid solvent containing the product from the solid to form a product-containing liquid and a product-depleted solid.

Senna obtusifolia seed extract and a method for comprehensive development and utilization of Senna obtusifolia seeds

A method of preparing a Senna obtusifolia seed extract rich in anthraquinones and a galactomannan extract includes the following steps: (1) crushing Senna obtusifolia seeds into a Senna obtusifolia seed powder; (2) extracting the Senna obtusifolia seed powder with 40-85% ethanol, filtering to obtain an extract solution and a residue; (3) concentrating the extract solution under vacuum to obtain a concentrated extract solution, spray-drying the concentrated extract solution to obtain the Senna obtusifolia seed extract; (4) extracting the residue with membrane filtered water, conducting a centrifugation to obtain a supernatant; (5) adding ammonium sulfate and ethanol to the supernatant to form a two-phase aqueous system, collecting a bottom layer of the two-phase aqueous system; and (6) conducting an ultrafiltration of the bottom layer with a cut-off molecular weight of 50 k-200 k to obtain a galactomannan extract solution, drying the galactomannan extract solution under vacuum to obtain the galactomannan extract.
