ENHANCED PURIFICATION OF ADENO-ASSOCIATED VIRUS TO MORE EFFECTIVELY REMOVE CONTAMINATING DNA
A method for reducing a contaminating DNA content of a preparation containing AAV capsids and contaminating DNA, comprising the steps of a) Performing an extraction of DNA with a solid phase bearing positive charges at its surface said solid phase is contacted with the preparation at a pH of 7.0±1.0, and a salt concentration of 10 mM to 200 mM yielding a first fraction, (b) Diafiltering the first fraction by a first tangential flow filtration to obtain a second fraction, (c) Treating the second fraction with DNase, (d) Diafiltering the DNase treated second fraction obtained by step c) by a second tangential flow, (e) filtration to a buffer with pH of 7.0±1.0, and a salt concentration of 10 mM to 20 mM to yield a third fraction, and optionally (f) Concentrating the third fraction by tangential flow filtration before supplemental chromatography.
TREATMENT OF PLASTIC-DERIVED OIL
A system for the treatment of a liquid plastic-derived oil having a pretreating section that includes a pretreating system having one or more reactors that may receive the liquid plastic-derived oil having one or more contaminants and a first contamination level. The one or more reactors includes a sorbent material having a faujasite (FAU) crystal framework type zeolitic molecular sieve and that may remove a first portion of the one or more contaminants from the liquid plastic-derived oil and generate a treated liquid plastic-derived oil having a second contamination level that is less than the first contamination level. The liquid plastic-derived oil is derived from a solid plastic waste (SPW), and the first portion of the one or more contaminants includes a halogen.
VALVE BASED WATER SOFTENER SYSTEM AND METHOD
An apparatus and method for softening water are provided. The water softening system comprises a water softener apparatus comprising a tank designed to contain a resin bed and a water softener head coupled to the tank. The water softener head comprises at least one inlet, at least one outlet, a first channel in fluid communication with the first outlet, and a second channel in fluid communication with the first inlet. The water softening system includes at least one inlet water line for hard water and one outlet water line for softened water. A controller is provided and is configured to detect a first operating state of the water softening system, monitor the performance of the water softening system, and send instructions to at least one of the first valve and the second valve to change from a first operational state to a second operational state.
Purification and separation system and method
A purification system for separating a molecule of interest from a solution is provided and generally includes a plurality of resin processing sections, wherein each of the resin processing sections is controllably separated from each other via a configurable valve, wherein the configurable valve is configured to introduce or evacuate a fluid/resin into/out of a proximately located processing section, a plurality of inlets configured to introduce fluid and/or resin into one or more of the plurality of resin processing sections.
