Method and apparatus for preparation of pharmacologically-relevant compounds from botanical sources
In a system and process for selectively purifying various pharmacologically-relevant components of a source plant such as cannabis, an initial step provides a low-temperature, robust essential oil/terpene capture that also dehydrates and decarboxylates the starting product—fresh raw cannabis—by means of a vacuum-assisted microwave distillation process. By doing the terpene capture under vacuum distillation temperature may be kept low. The low distillation temperature maximizes yields of thermally-sensitive components such as terpenes and cannabinoids. The system includes an oil/water separator configured to prevent leakage of ambient air into the system.
Tank tool for a tank having one or more fluids and processes performed using the tank tool
A multi-function tank tool including a body, an internal passageway, an upper end and a lower end. The lower end is configured to connect a hose so that a fluid travels in the internal passageway. The upper end includes at least one opening communicating with an interior of the tank. A first hose can be connected to a lower end of the body. The tank may have oil, vapor and an oil/vapor interface. The tank tool can perform at least one of the following: grounding an interior of the tank using at least the tank tool and the first hose; agitating one or more fluids traveling through the internal passageway to mix the one or more fluids traveling through the internal passageway; directing a hot oil adjacent the oil/vapor interface using at least the tank tool and the first hose; and, attaching the tool to a floating tank roof.
Treating Water
Systems and methods for treating produced water and/or flowback water from fracking operations include: an oil water separator; a first filter downstream of the oil water separator; and an electrocoagulation unit downstream of the first filter. Systems and methods can be used for producing a concentrated brine for use in industrial applications and a separate stream of fresh water.
INSTANTANEOUS WATER/OIL SEPARATION SYSTEM
An instantaneous separation system for capturing and recovering oil from an outdoor electrical equipment. The system includes a capture system for capturing a mixture of oil and water and transporting the mixture to an instantaneous separation reservoir. The separation reservoir maintains the separated oil and water separate via a separation plate. A water outlet pipe transports the separated water back to the surroundings, an oil outlet pipe transports the separated oil to an oil reservoir; a nominal water level threshold maintains the separated water at a given water height by directing any water surpassing the water height to the surroundings via the water outlet pipe. The nominal water level threshold and the separation plate ensure that substantially only the separated water enters the water outlet pipe. An oil outlet threshold is positioned at a height that is greater than the height of the nominal water level threshold.
Separation apparatus
A separation apparatus includes: a partitioning member inside a separation tank, includes erect and transverse portions, and partitions the tank into inflow and outflow regions of a liquid; an inlet of which a lower level is set to be lower than an upper end of the erect portion and an upper level is set to be higher; a screen in the erect portion along a flow direction of the liquid; a swirling inducing member in the erect portion intersecting with the flow direction of the liquid; a screen in the transverse portion; a dividing member dividing the liquid flowing in from the inlet into flows along side walls of the separation tank; a retaining member at a downstream side in the flow direction and retains the substance having the specific gravity less than that of the liquid; and an outlet through which the liquid flows out from the outflow region.
System and Method for Solid Catalyst Separation In Slurry Reactors
A system and method for processing a treated feed slurry produced by a slurry reactor. The method and system include mixing a chemical separation feed with the treated feed slurry produced by the slurry reactor to chemically separate solid catalyst particles in the treated feed slurry by dissolving the solid catalyst particles using an acid or base in the chemical separation feed. A heavy oil upgrading process that includes the system and method is also described.
WATER-OIL SEPARATION DEVICE
A water-oil separation device uses a difference in density between water and oil. The water-oil separation device can easily and quickly separate oil by using a polymer film floating at interface between water and oil. The water-oil separation device easily and quickly collects oil of various viscosities with a simple structure by using differences in density between materials without using a conventional lyophilic/lyophobic film, thus solving the drawbacks of conventional filter-based and adsorption-based methods, and enabling quick and effective responses to actual oil spill situations.
Water absorbing and releasing body for engine oil, automotive parts including water absorbing and releasing body, and method for producing water absorbing and releasing body for engine oil
A water absorbing and releasing body that absorbs water in engine oil and releases water when the temperature of the engine oil is high in order to maintain the performance of the engine oil, automotive parts including the water absorbing and releasing body, and a method for producing the water absorbing and releasing body for engine oil.
Method for solid-liquid separations
Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed to separate solids from liquids. A vessel includes a screw, an inlet, a first outlet, and a second outlet. The inlet receives a first slurry having an incoming solids concentration. The first slurry consists of solids and a contact liquid. The first outlet is disposed toward the first end of the vessel. The second outlet is disposed toward a second end of the vessel. The screw preferentially conveys the solids over the contact liquid towards the second end of the vessel, the solids displacing at least a portion of the contact liquid, causing that portion of the contact liquid to flow toward the first outlet. A melting device is included.
Sand removal tank
A tank for removing sand entrained in a flow includes an inlet assembly including churn tubes configured to receive fluid provided into the tank such that sand is separated from water, gas and oil present in the flow. An oil outlet port communicates with an oil collection device, and a water outlet port communicates with a water outlet assembly.
