FILTERING SKIMMERS AND BEACHES FOR USE IN WATER SEPARATION AND TREATMENT
Wastewater or effluent treatment systems and methods that employ filtering skimmers and/or beaches for separating water from solids and/or other wastes are provided. In some embodiments, the systems include: at least one tank defined by a bottom wall and at least one side wall; a beach including a ramped surface disposed near a side wall of the tank, the ramped surface having a base end disposed at a first elevation relative to the bottom wall of the tank, and a top end opposite the base end at a second elevation relative to the bottom wall of the tank, the second elevation being greater than the first elevation; and a skimmer disposed in the tank that is configured to move material at a surface of the tank toward the beach, wherein (a) at least a portion of the skimmer, (b) at least a portion of the ramped surface of the beach, or (c) at least portions of both the skimmer and the ramped surface of the beach includes a filter material.
Floating chopper sludge weir
A system for consolidating and removing contaminate such as paint sludge or oils from a fluid mixture. A contaminate tank receives a supply of the fluid mixture containing contaminate from a source such as a manufacturing line where overspray of paints or cleaning solutions containing washed away oils are collected. A free floating weir floats on the surface of the contaminate tank and mechanically separates and removes contaminate from a surface of the contaminate tank and concentrates contaminate in a consolidation tank. The free floating weir is equipped with several features that enhance the ability of the free floating weir to remove contaminate without becoming clogged.
ROLLER FOR CHAIN AND SCRAPER ASSEMBLY
A settling basin of a wastewater treatment system, the settling basin comprises a collector chain for driving a plurality of flights through the settling basin, the collector chain including chain links comprising a plurality of side bars including a plurality of inner pairs of side bars and a plurality of outer pairs of side bars, and connecting pins configured to join the plurality of side bars, each connecting pin including a first end and a second end on an opposite end of the connecting pin from the first end, and flanged rollers disposed on the connecting pins between the first ends and second ends.
Scum concentration device
A scum or floating oil concentration device comprises a scum or floating oil concentration cone (11) and a scum or floating oil conveyor (12). Said scum or floating oil conveyor (12) is arranged above said scum or floating oil concentration cone (11). Said scum or floating oil conveyor (12) comprises a conveying helix (1) rotating around a shaft, a scum or floating oil conveying pipe (2) and a skimmer (3). Said conveying helix (1) is arranged inside said scum or floating oil conveying pipe (2). An opening is arranged on said scum or floating oil conveying pipe (2). Said skimmer (3) is arranged at said opening of said scum or floating oil conveying pipe (2). An inclined separation plate (13) and a scum or floating oil collection and concentration system are further provided in the present invention.
ANIMAL BYPRODUCT RECOVERY SYSTEM
A system for recovery of animal byproducts and providing water reuse from an animal processing plant waste stream. In one embodiment of the invention there is an equalization tank forming part of an animal processing plant that is mechanically filtered to recover animal byproducts from a water mixture in the equalization tank. In another aspect of the invention there is a skimmer tank that contains a skimmer mixture with water and animal byproducts. The system mechanically separates the animal byproducts from the skimmer mixture in a manner that is suitable for human consumption. The system also allows the separated water to be reused in the animal processing plant.
Passive gravity filter cell and methods of use thereof
A passive filter cell having a basin with a floor and two or more vertical or upright sidewalls forming chute or container having first or left sidewall, second or right sidewall, and third or back sidewall, and fourth or front downwardly curved sidewall, an inlet positioned proximate a top of the fourth or front sidewall and an outlet positioned proximate the top of the third or back sidewall, wherein the floor is configured angled from the fourth or front sidewall to the third or back sidewall, discharge pipe positioned proximate junction between the floor and the third or back sidewall, and lip configured to extend from the top of the third or back sidewall into an interior of the basin.
PLANT AND PROCESS FOR REMOVING SUSPENDED SOLIDS, OILS AND GREASES FROM COOLING WATER IN THE STEEL AND METALLURGICAL SECTOR
The invention relates to a water treatment line and a process for removing suspended solids, such as ferrous scale, and in particular also oils and greases, from cooling waters of metallurgical or steel processing. A sedimentation tank is included in which there is a lamellar pack filter with inclined sedimentation surfaces comprising a plurality of adjacent, essentially parallel and inclined tubular profiles, in particular with an angle of inclination with respect to the bottom of said tank of 50-65?. The application of the laminar packs in the tank which separate suspended solids, in particular ferrous scale, by sedimentation avoids the use of sand filters or the like.
WATER TREATMENT SKIMMER APPARATUS AND SYSTEM
A connection collar for a water treatment skimmer apparatus includes a body comprising a first material and defining a first circular hole and a bushing comprising a second material disposed within the first circular hole, the bushing defining a second circular hole. The first material is different than the second material and the first circular hole circumscribes and is concentric with the second circular hole, according to various embodiments. The water treatment skimmer apparatus may include a support bar, the connection collar rotatably coupled to the support bar, and a skimmer blade coupled to the connection collar.
