METHOD FOR FILTERING SEAWATER ONBOARD A SHIP
A method for filtering seawater onboard a ship involves pumping seawater into a filtration device so that the seawater is introduced into the filtration device at an inlet pressure, flows in the filtration device through a filter element, and after the filter element as filtered seawater has an outlet pressure. A concentrate phase or concentrate removed using the cleaning device at the filter element of the filtration device is carried away from the filter element and has a concentrate pressure. The inlet pressure, the outlet pressure, and the concentrate pressure are measured. A change in filter efficiency of the filter element is recognized by determining a change in a contamination pressure difference between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure and/or a suction pressure difference defined as the difference between the outlet pressure and the concentrate pressure is controlled depending on the contamination pressure difference.
Screw press separator
The present disclosure may include a press screw separator configured for separating solid components from a slurry containing solid and liquid components. The separator may include a housing, a frame arranged in the housing, and a cylindrical screen which is arranged at least partially in the frame. The separator may also include a screw adapted for pressing out the slurry, which screw may be arranged within the screen and mounted so as to be rotationally movable about a longitudinal axis of the screen. The frame may be mounted in the housing without any clearance.
WATER INLET PROTECTION SYSTEM
A water inlet protection system and apparatus for removing sediment and/or chemical from water or other fluids is provided. The system may include a filtration material that is configured to be water permeable and to collect sediment within the water. The system may be configured to be removably secured to various types of storm drains or water inlets. The system may include a frame configured to be removably attached to a storm grate. The frame may also include a plurality of tabs extending from the frame and be slidably adjustable. The system may also include an s-clip member or magnets for removably securing the filtration material to a storm drain or water inlet. Furthermore, the water inlet protection system may include one or more over-flow protection openings. The over-flow protection openings may include a raised member or barrier to regulate the water level where over-flow occurs.
Filtration device and method
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a filtration device for use in filtration of a liquid, and disclose: a liquid receptacle having an open end and a closed end; a plunger body moveable at least partially within the liquid receptacle along an axis said axis extending between the open and closed ends, said plunger including a filtrate chamber in fluid communication with the liquid receptacle via a fluid filtering path and a filter disposed in the filtering path, and the device further including a slidable seal for inhibiting or preventing fluid flow across the seal during said plunger movement; wherein said seal includes a first skirt depending from the plunger at one end of the first skirt, said first skirt having an outer surface which in use slidably and sealingly abuts the vial, and having, at least in an uncompressed state, a generally annular separation between the skirt and the plunger body, which separation extends generally parallel to the axis. A second skirt, overlapping the first skirt, is disclosed also.
FILTER AND FILTERING ARRANGEMENT
A filter for filtering pyrolysis oil and an arrangement. The filter is a split-flow filter (1, 1a, 1b), comprising a filter element (12), comprising plurality of apertures (17) extending through the filter element (12), a receiving channel (13) for receiving a flow (F) of pyrolysis oil to be filtered and for supplying said flow on first side (A) of the filter element (12), a main discharge channel (14) arranged on the first side (A) of the filter element (12) for discharging the portion of the flow (F) of pyrolysis oil having not penetrated through the filter element (12), and a filtrate channel (15) arranged on second side (B) of the filter element (12) for discharging the portion of the flow (F) of pyrolysis oil having penetrated through the filter element (12).
VERTICAL SEPARATOR FOR THE TREATMENT OF SLURRY
A vertical separator for the treatment of slurry. The vertical separator comprises: a screen device, with a vertical axis, provided with a screen; a feeding device, provided with a pump, to feed the slurry to a screen device; a discharge device for the liquid part; and a discharge device for the solid particles. The screen device houses a counter-pressing device (e.g. a screw, which is designed to generate a reaction, which partially counters the pushing action exerted by the pump upon the slurry.
CONTROL VALVE AND TRIM ASSEMBLY FOR A CONTROL VALVE
A control valve includes a body having an inlet and an outlet, a valve seat positioned in a passageway of the body between the inlet and the outlet, and a valve plug movable between a closed position and an open position. A trim assembly is disposed within the body to provide guidance for the valve plug and to condition a flow of fluid through the control valve. The trim assembly includes a top portion and a bottom portion. A plurality of ribs extend between the top portion and the bottom portion and a plurality of arcuate lattice segments are removably secured between the top portion and the bottom portion and separated from adjacent lattice segments by a rib of the plurality of ribs. Each lattice segment has a plurality of passages that extend between an inner surface and an outer surface of the lattice segment.
