An apparatus and method for separating solid matter from liquid matter includes a container, a gas buster, a trough, a winch, and a filter. The gas buster is positioned above the container to dissipate energy associated with incoming solid matter and liquid matter. The trough is positioned below an outlet of the gas buster and has a bottom sloping from a high end to a low end with an opening at the low end. The filter is positionable below the opening of the trough in a way that the solid matter and the liquid matter passing from the opening of the trough enter the filter wherein the liquid matter passes through the filter and into the container and the solid matter is collected in the filter. The filter is removable from the container to permit the amount of solid matter collected in the filter to be determined.

A removable closure assembly has a cap making a liquid-tight seal with a tri-clamp assembly to the open end of a filter assembly body. The closure assembly has a filter which fits within the filter body. To aid in separating the closure assembly from the body, the cap has an outwardly extending shaft fixed thereto. The shaft is terminated by a radially protruding stop block. A handle is slidable on the shaft and functions as a slide hammer weight with an end wall facing the cap through which the shaft extends. The handle is movable to strike the shaft stop block and apply a force to the stop block and shaft for separating the cap from the body. The stop block has axial channels allowing a clean out of place system to exchange cleaning fluid with an interior volume of the handle.

A removable closure assembly has a cap making a liquid-tight seal with a tri-clamp assembly to the open end of a filter assembly body. The closure assembly has a filter which fits within the filter body. To aid in separating the closure assembly from the body, the cap has an outwardly extending shaft fixed thereto. A quick release pool skimmer basket apparatus includes a tapered attachment apparatus, a basket having a sidewall, a filter element coupled to the sidewall to move between an open position and a closed position, and a handle extending upwardly from the basket. A trigger in the handle is operatively coupled to the filter element to hold the filter element in the closed position. Activation of the trigger releases the bottom from the closed position to the open position.

A quick release pool skimmer basket apparatus includes a tapered attachment apparatus, a basket having a sidewall, a filter element coupled to the sidewall to move between an open position and a closed position, and a handle extending upwardly from the basket. A trigger in the handle is operatively coupled to the filter element to hold the filter element in the closed position. Activation of the trigger releases the bottom from the closed position to the open position.

The slit spiral tube for self-cleaning pressure filters in which the spiral element is mounted on supports, by maintaining the spiral circumferential slit wherein, in the spiral circumferential slit (s) there is a fixed working spiral moving back and forth. The slot self-cleaning pressure filter for dewatering liquid media consisting of a cylindrical casing in which there is a medium inflow, an effluent outflow and a sludge overflow and slit spiral tubes placed centrally, axially one in another, out of which each tube has a spiral element fixed on supports by maintaining the spiral circumferential slit, wherein, in the spiral circumferential slit (s) of both the external slit spiral tube and the internal slit spiral tube a working spiral moving back and forth is mounted, whereas, between the slit spiral tubes and a motor-driven spiral rotatable scraper is mounted.

A filter candle (1) in a backflush filter housing (2) has a cylindrical filter wall (3) and includes an internal hollow flushing element (8) divided into a flushing section (9) having a flushing port (10) for backflushing and a turbine section (11) for rotation of the flushing element. The flushing section tapers from a first end to a second end. The turbine section tapers from a first end to a second end and has turbine blades arranged on the outside. The first end of the flushing section is connected to the first end of the turbine section at a transition position (21). An outside of the flushing element forms a cylindrical restriction at the transition position so that the part of the cylindrical filter wall of the filter candle extending at the turbine section may be backflushed by means of fluid also driving the turbine.

A filter candle (1) in a backflush filter housing (2) has a cylindrical filter wall (3) and includes an internal hollow flushing element (8) divided into a flushing section (9) having a flushing port (10) for backflushing and a turbine section (11) for rotation of the flushing element. The flushing section tapers from a first end to a second end. The turbine section tapers from a first end to a second end and has turbine blades arranged on the outside. The first end of the flushing section is connected to the first end of the turbine section at a transition position (21). An outside of the flushing element forms a cylindrical restriction at the transition position so that the part of the cylindrical filter wall of the filter candle extending at the turbine section may be backflushed by means of fluid also driving the turbine.

A food processing apparatus includes a pressure vessel defining a compartment having an inlet end for receiving food product and an outlet end for discharging food product, an open-top screen mounted within the compartment and movable relative to the compartment between a first position, for food processing, and a second position, to facilitate cleaning, a rotatable auger mounted such that at least a portion of the auger is within the screen, the auger being operable to advance food product within the compartment from the inlet end of the pressure vessel toward the outlet end, and a transfer mechanism including a conduit in communication with the compartment, a fluid discharge positioned substantially within the conduit, and a pressurized fluid source in communication with the fluid discharge and operable to propel a fluid through the fluid discharge to move food product through the conduit.

A surface cleaning apparatus such as an extractor has a liquid delivery system, a separator, a collection chamber in communication a the separated element outlet of the separator, and a separated liquid collection container downstream from the collection chamber.
