System and methods for pool and spa filter cleaning
A self-cleaning pool or spa filter system having a filter body housing a set of filter cartridges, each filter cartridge rotatably connected to a filter holder, a spray manifold having an inlet for receiving water from a pump and a plurality of sprayers, a shaft connected to the filter holder and a motor, which can rotate the shaft and thus the filter holder, causing the set of filter cartridges to rotate about the shaft, exposing lengthwise each filter cartridge to the sprayers; a sun gear attached to the first shaft; and a set of planet gears, each planet gear being concentrically associated with one filter cartridge and engaged by the sun gear, causing transfer of a rotational movement of the sun gear to each planet gear and to each filter cartridge, causing each filter cartridge to rotate, exposing the entire circumference of each filter cartridge to the plurality of sprayers.
A CLEANING APPARATUS FOR CLEANING FILTER SCREENS
There is disclosed an apparatus for cleaning circular filter screens comprising at least one suction chamber fitted to a conduit of the dirt collection conduit system extending along a central axis of the housing of the filter screen. The suction chamber comprises a central nozzle through which fluid is forced to flow by virtue of a pressure differential between the outer surface of the filter screen and an extremity of the dirt collection conduit system. The fluid flow through the central nozzle creates a low pressure regime near the mouth of the central nozzle such that fluid is forced through a plurality of peripheral suction nozzles arranged around the central nozzle from the outer surface of the filter screen to the inside of the suction chamber, thereby forcing the dirt and retentate accumulated along the inner surface of the filter screen to be washed away.
CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR INCLUDING AN INTEGRATED PARTICULATE FILTER
A system for mechanical separation of a fluid is provided. The system includes a centrifugal separator configured for receiving a flow of the fluid including a plurality of solid particles and utilizing centrifugal force to separate a first portion of the plurality of solid particles from the flow of the fluid. The system further includes a particulate filter including a filter body. The particulate filter is configured for receiving the flow of the fluid from the centrifugal separator and utilizing the filter body to separate a second portion of the plurality of solid particles from the flow of the fluid.
REGENERATIVE MEDIA FILTER
A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path. The filter elements are disposed in an monolithic array. An inlet port arrangement is disposed at the filter housing leading to the inlet zone and is constructed and arranged to direct the fluid path into the filter housing in a manner so as to maintain a controlled turbulence at the inlet zone. The inlet port arrangement comprises a pair of inlet ports that are arranged in juxtaposition at the inlet zone and each having one end where the fluid flow enters. Embodiments that are considered as falling under the scope of the present invention include 1. Single inlet/two or more outlets; 2. Two or more inlets/single outlet, or 3. Two or more inlets and two or more outlets.
System and method of greywater recovery and reuse
A greywater recovery and reuse system is shown, including a body for collecting, reconditioning and discharging greywater. The body has an inlet connection to a source of greywater; a filter for filtering the greywater; a tank for receiving the filtered greywater; a disinfector for disinfecting the filtered greywater; a pump for discharging the reconditioned greywater from said tank to a toilet that needs flushing water; a discharge connection to a sanitary sewer system; a fresh water connection and a control system for controlling the operation of the greywater recovery and reuse system. The system includes a controller for operating the system and dealing with certain alarm and status conditions. Methods of operating the system are also comprehended.
WATER REUSE SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS AND APPARATUSES
Systems, apparatuses and methods related to treating and/or recycling a wastewater for reuse are described.
ALGAE SEPARATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING DRY ALGAE
The present disclosure is an algae separating device configured to separate algae from an algal solution in which algae are suspended. The algae separating device includes: a metal screen having a main body and a plurality of through holes passing through the main body from a front face to a back face; and a spraying device configured to spray the algal solution toward the front face of the main body.
Ballast water treatment apparatus and ballast water management system
A ballast water treatment apparatus includes a filtering device including a filter for filtering seawater, an ultraviolet irradiation device that irradiates the seawater filtered by the filter with ultraviolet light, a first path for supplying the seawater filtered by the filtering device to the ultraviolet irradiation device, a discharge water path for discharging the seawater remaining in the filtering device, a first valve provided in the first path, a second path for supplying the seawater flowing from the ultraviolet irradiation device to a ballast tank, and a control device that closes the first valve and cleans the filter by using the seawater introduced into the filtering device before the seawater filtered by the filtering device is supplied to the ultraviolet irradiation device.
Automated permeability test for a filter basket
A method for automated cleaning of a filter basket in a bioreactor includes determining permeability of the filter basket. A control unit controls a suction unit for suctioning a residual liquid from the liquid tank, a liquid metering unit for dispensing a liquid having a predetermined liquid volume into the filter basket controls the suction unit to empty the liquid tank by suctioning a filtered liquid volume, measures the volume of the suctioned liquid volume, and sending a first measurement signal to the control unit. The control unit determines a permeability quotient from the volume of the extracted filtered liquid volume to the volume of the dispensed predetermined liquid volume and compares the permeability quotient with a permeability threshold. The control unit then controls a cleaning unit to perform a cleaning process of the filter basket if the permeability quotient is below the permeability threshold.
PARTICLE SEPARATOR
A particle separator for the separation of solid particles out of a flowing fluid, the input mass flow, which is characterized in that a particle chamber for concentrating the solid particles to be separated is disposed in the flow path of the input mass flow and that at least one region of the wall of the particle chamber is implemented as a filter element through which a primary mass flow of the fluid can flow and that, additionally, at least one bypass opening is disposed in the wall of the particle chamber for the through-flow of the fluid with a secondary mass flow at higher filtration resistance.
