A drain protector (1) is provided which has a conformable bottom frame (3) having a central opening that is closed by a filter element (4) spanning the opening. The filter element is capable of removing silt from water on a building site. The bottom frame is capable of conforming to the surface terrain around a drain opening due to the compressive weight of the drain protector in-situ. There is a porous top frame (2) that provides additional separation for debris from silted water and also provides compression weight for the bottom frame. The drain protector (1) may be removed, cleaned and reused.

A closed-loop, bioregenerative water purification system including a gravity-independent anaerobic membrane bioreactor capable of operating in the presence and absence of gravity, the bioreactor including an anaerobic bioreactor, a first membrane filtration unit, and a second membrane filtration unit, wherein the anaerobic bioreactor is configured to receive organic waste and hygiene water as inputs and break them down into constituent components using anaerobic microbes, wherein the first membrane filtration unit is configured to receive effluent output from the anaerobic bioreactor, return concentrate to the anaerobic bioreactor, and output permeate to the second membrane filtration unit, and wherein the second membrane filtration unit is configured to receive the permeate output from the first membrane filtration unit, separate biogas from the permeate, and output nutrient-rich water.

A cyclonic, dust-collecting unit includes: one or more air swirling members, which swirl(s) air; a dust cap, into which air that has passed through the swirling member(s) flows; and a filter unit, through which air that flows out of the dust cap passes. The filter unit includes: a prefilter; a sound-absorbing member, through which air that has passed through the prefilter flows; and a post filter, through which air that has passed through the sound-absorbing member flows.

The present invention relates to a water purifier filter, and a water purifier including the same. The water purifier filter and the water purifier including the same according to the present invention include a filter housing including an inlet and an outlet, and a filter module provided in the filter housing to purify water introduced through the inlet and to supply the water to the outlet, and a material of the filter module includes sodium orthotitanate (Na.sub.4TiO.sub.4) to remove a heavy metal under water, thereby effectively removing a heavy metal including cadmium under water.

Apparatuses of electrochemical antimicrobial face masks and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. In one embodiment, an electrochemical antimicrobial face mask may include an electrochemical antimicrobial section configured to inactivate microbes that are in contact with the electrochemical antimicrobial section, and a filtration section configured to provide additional protection that prevents a user from breathing in the microbes, and where the electrochemical antimicrobial section is attached to the filtration section. The electrochemical antimicrobial section may include a galvanic corrosion cell membrane configured to generate antimicrobial agents via a galvanic electrochemical reaction, a hydrophilic antimicrobial membrane configured to inactivate microbes using the antimicrobial agents, and a regeneration pad configured to supply materials to the galvanic corrosion cell membrane for generating the antimicrobial agents.

A resin sheet contains: a sheet-like substrate of a resin; and wall-like projections (W) of the same resin having a certain height and standing upright on one surface of the substrate. The wall-like projections (W) are arranged on the surface of the substrate in at least 10 parallel rows with a certain spacing, and a large number of the wall-like projections (W), which satisfy the conditions (1) to (5) described in the specification, are present in parallel on the one surface of the substrate. The resin sheet is useful as a directional male hook-and-loop fastener whose male engaging elements are unlikely to break when a force is applied thereto and which does not provide a stimulus to the skin when it touches the surface of the fastener, as a filter for separating fine particles from a fluid, and as a display resin sheet.

Provided is graphene-based personnel protection equipment (PPE) product, comprising: (a) a fabric, clothing, face shield, face mask, or glove body configured to support graphene sheets; and (b) graphene sheets deposited on a surface of the body or at least partially embedded in the body, wherein the graphene sheets comprise a plurality of discrete single-layer or few-layer graphene sheets selected from pristine graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene fluoride, graphene chloride, graphene bromide, graphene iodide, hydrogenated graphene, nitrogenated graphene, doped graphene, chemically functionalized graphene, or a combination thereof. Preferably, surfaces of graphene sheets carry an anti-microbial compound, preferably in the form of a nanoparticle, nano-wire, or nano-coating.

Embodiments herein relate to medical devices and methods for monitoring and/or treatment including the use of synthetic polymers exhibiting specific binding for compounds such as disease state markers or toxic substances. In an embodiment, a method of testing a patient for a disease state is included, the method can include withdrawing a fluid sample from the patient and contacting the fluid sample with an extracorporeal monitoring device. The extracorporeal monitoring device can include a microporous membrane. The microporous membrane can include a synthetic polymer, wherein the synthetic polymer exhibits binding specificity with a disease state marker. The method can further include evaluating the extracorporeal monitoring device for the presence of the disease state marker. Other embodiments are included herein.

The disclosure relates to seamless manufacturing processes for 3-dimensional waterproof and breathable porous polymer membranes by spraying, dip-coating or painting a substrate with a dispersion having polymer, coated or non-coated particles and diluent and removing the particles by dissolution thus creating porosity after the 3D coating/shaping. The disclosure further relates to dispersions to obtain such membranes, to polymer membranes obtained, to shaped articles containing such membranes; to the use of such membranes, shaped articles and intermediates.

Disclosed herein is a degradable filter structures and protective coverings including degradable filter structures. The filter structures comprise cellulose acetate and optionally plasticizer. The filter structures and protective coverings described herein degrade more rapidly than other known protective coverings.
