SMOKE FILTER APPARATUS
A smoke filter apparatus comprising a segmented conduit formed of a plurality of nesting sections and comprising one or more filters. The filters may comprise a preferred filter sequence, wherein the preferred filter sequence comprises a metal screen filter, a charcoal filter, and an acetate filter.
MULTI-LAYER, OIL-RESISTANT, ELECTRO-MECHANICAL SYNTHETIC HEPA MEDIA
A composite media alternative to high pressure drop glass microfiber HEPA media for use in applications where HEPA efficiency with an oily aerosol challenge with low resistance are required. The composite media contains two light filtration layers, one or both of which is charged, and the efficiency of the material can be greatly increased over a single layer containing the same weight of material. The composite media contains a backer layer to provide mechanical support to the filtration layers.
POLYSACCHARIDE-PEPTIDE COMPLEX FOR LOWERING BLOOD SUGAR, BLOOD LIPID AND GLYCOSYLATED HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS, AND PREPARATION METHOD
Disclosed are a polysaccharide-peptide composite and a method of preparing the same. The polysaccharide-peptide composite is prepared from a bitter melon peptide (BMP) powder, gardenia fruit oil, a soybean polypeptide powder, an oat dietary fiber powder, a konjac powder, a corn silk, a mulberry leaf extract, a Poria cocos extract, a hawthorn extract, nutritional yeast and a pancreatin. The BMP powder is prepared by temperature-controlled hydrolysis, staged enzymatic hydrolysis and multiple filtrations. The gardenia fruit oil is prepared by staged enzymatic hydrolysis, multi-step centrifugation, filtration and stratification.
Personal Air Filter Utilizing Mechanical, Chemical and Electrostatic Filter Media
As an accessory to smoke or vaporizer devices or integrated into same, or to accompany smokers in general, a personal air filter comprising multiple filter mediums and technologies, and various combinations thereof, including mechanical, chemical and electrostatic principles, is disclosed. The different mediums and components are sequentially incorporated into a compact unit that can fit easily into a user's bag, purse or pocket. Importantly, harmful organic compounds are targeted as well as nanoparticles. An additional feature is that the filter device is easily disassembled to replace and/or reuse inner and outer components.
BIOPOLYMERIC WATER TREATMENT
A method of water treatment includes providing water that includes at least one contaminant. An effective amount of at least one filter media is added to the to the water that includes at least one contaminant. The water and the at least one filter media are agitated to form a homogeneous mixture. A cationic biopolymer is added to the homogeneous mixture of water and the at least one filter media. The water is separated from the at least one contaminant and the at least one filter media.
Exhaust gas clean-up system for fossil fuel fired power plant
A fossil fuel fired power plant exhaust gas clean-up system is provided to remove detrimental compounds/elements from the exhaust gas emitting from the power plant to protect the environment. This is accomplished primarily by directing the exhaust gas from a fossil fuel fired power plant through both a reaction chamber containing a chemically produced compound and a catalytic converter. The final exhaust gas can now be safely exhausted to the atmosphere and only contains nitrogen gas, oxygen, water and a trace amount of carbon dioxide.
Electrochemical carbon nanotube filter and method
A filtration apparatus and filtration method can be used to reduce at least one contaminant (e.g., organic molecules, ions and/or biological microorganisms) in an aqueous fluid. The filtration apparatuses and methods of the invention can separate at least one contaminant from an aqueous fluid and/or oxidize at least one contaminant. In operation, an aqueous fluid is flowed through a filtration apparatus comprising a porous carbon nanotube filter material at an applied voltage. In some embodiments, the filtration apparatus described herein can be used for dead-end filtration. In some embodiments, the filtration apparatus described herein can be used for cross-over filtration.
LASER-INDUCED GRAPHENE FILTERS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
Virus and microbe-killing, self-sterilizing resistive heated air filters and methods of making and using same methods. The air filter is includes laser-induced graphene (LIG), a porous conductive graphene foam formed through photothermal conversion of a polyimide film (or another source or source of polymer or other LIG precursor material) by a laser source. The LIG in the air filter can capture particulates and bacteria. The bacteria cannot proliferate even when submerged in culture medium. Through a periodic Joule-heating mechanism, the filter easily reaches greater than 300° C. This destroys any microorganisms including bacteria, along with molecules that can cause adverse biological reactions and diseases such as viruses, pyrogens, allergens, exotoxins, endotoxins, teichoic acids, mycotoxins, nucleic acids, and prions
ACTIVATED CARBON FOR THE REMOVAL OF LEACHABLES AND/OR EXTRACTABLES
The present invention relates to the purification of target molecules like recombinant and/or biotherapeutic proteins. Activated carbon can be used to remove leachables and/or extractables resulting from disposable equipment employed in the process.
Cigarette smoke-filtering device
The cigarette smoke-filtering device includes a bottom dome that includes at least one inlet port thereon. The at least one inlet port of the bottom dome is adapted to receive a lit cigarette thereon. The bottom dome is attachable to a top dome. The bottom dome and the top dome form an interior cavity that supports a carbon filter and a smoke chamber. The carbon filter is responsible for filtering cigarette smoke delivered from the lit cigarette via the at least one inlet port. The bottom dome includes an outlet that is affixed to a hose that extends there from. The hose is in turn attached to a mouthpiece.
