20190022582 · 2019-01-24 ·

A catalytically active filter for use in hot gas filtration to simultaneously remove solid particles and one or more undesirable compounds from a hot gas stream is partly or fully impregnated with a suitable catalyst. The compounds are selected from HCN, arsenic, organic sulfur compounds and carbonyls. The filter is prepared by making an impregnation liquid, which comprises a catalytically effective amount of at least one active metal and an oxide support, impregnating the filter substrate with the impregnation liquid by dipping it in the liquid or spraying it with the liquid to control the amount of liquid and drying and optionally calcining the impregnated filter.

NON-WELDED FILTER

Embodiments of the present invention include systems and methods for providing a filter that is sealed solely with mechanical forces. The filter may be a high pressure filter used in semiconductor manufacturing. In various embodiments, the filter includes a housing with an angled end and a filter element disposed inside the housing. The filter further includes a fluid fitting with an angled side. The angled side of the fitting has a different angle than the angled end of the housing. The filter also includes a compression collar fitted over the housing to compress the housing and the fitting. The result is a filter that may be used as a high-pressure fluid restrictor. The filter uses only mechanical seals to provide leak-proof highly filtered fluids in which impurities, contaminants and particulates are removed.

Synthesis gas production by reverse water gas shift reaction using carbon dioxide and pyrolysis-derived hydrogen
20240383749 · 2024-11-21 ·

Chemical systems and methods for synthesis gas (syngas) production relying on pyrolysis gases containing a pyrolysis carbon product and pyrolysis-derived hydrogen from a pyrolysis reactor that pyrolyzes a hydrocarbon feedstock. A high-temperature carbon separation mechanism separates the pyrolysis carbon product from the pyrolysis gases while maintaining their temperature above 800? C. A carbon dioxide source provides a gas stream primarily made up of a carbon dioxide gas. The hot pyrolysis gases containing pyrolysis-derived hydrogen and the carbon dioxide gas are sent to a reverse water gas shift reactor to react the pyrolysis gases with carbon dioxide to form the syngas. The syngas thus formed in the reverse water gas shift reactor can be used in many types of downstream systems and applications, including in reducing a metal oxide such as iron ore or other metal oxide to obtain a metal oxide reduction product. Recycling and heat exchange are provided for achieving further system efficiencies.
