FILTER ASSEMBLY COVER WITH INTEGRATED SENSORS
A filter assembly having a filter module, a fan module, an electronics module including a control system. The fan module inlet and the filter module outlet are laterally spaced apart with their corresponding surfaces extending side by side. A cover is movable between an engaged position engaging the surfaces of the filter and fan modules and a removed position. The cover defines a plenum providing a fluid communication between the filter module outlet and the fan module inlet in the engaged position and directing the flow along a direction different from a direction of the flow through the fan module inlet and filter module outlet. A sensor is located in the plenum and configured to provide information on the flow through the plenum. The sensor communicates with a power source and with the control system at least when the cover is in the engaged position.
H2O2 Filter Media Cleaning
This present application discloses use of a hydrogen peroxide solution for a filter media cleaning and sanitizing system which is designed to dispense the solution to disinfect an air filter. The system is attached to an existing air filter, allowing the system to lightly mist the filter media with the solution. The invention also adjusts the ions in the air system to eradicate germs, bacteria, viruses, and other airborne pathogens, and functions as a sanitization method for any type of air or HVAC system.
Aerosol protection system
Hygiene regulations and social distancing are very effective in blocking short distance infections. During the lockdown, the distance rules can usually be adhered to, but what happens when the actual lockdown is over and the people meet again in a confined space? Then additional effective and efficient protection is essential to stabilize infection rates. Since the viruses are spread by contact and droplet infection, technical devices are required that effectively intervene in the chain of infection and effectively block infection. An effective protection is the respiratory mask as known since 100 years. An alternative to mask is an aerosol protection system for various applications in environment. The protection system consists of adjustable air sucking device and air blowing device in different form factors based on application. The aerosol protection system uses either an air curtain or air shield to prevent the aerosol going from one side of the curtain or shield to the other side.
MODULAR NBC FILTRATION SYSTEM FOR PROTECTION SHELTERS
A near ceiling mounted NBC filtration system [10] (FIG. 8) for collective protection shelters having an optimized modular structure. The main building blocks comprising: a filter unit [30], a blower [40], a manual air exchange backup unit [20] and a changeover valve [50]. The filter unit [30] is elongated in shape horizontally positioned along a top portion of a wall of the protected space. An inlet port [36] and outlet port [38] of the filter unit are located in proximity to each other near a first extremity of the filter unit. The blower [40] is driven by the electric motor [42] through a second speed increasing transmission enabling rotation of an impeller of the blower at speeds of above 3000 rpm. The blower [40] is positioned along the filter unit [30] near a second extremity thereof distal from the inlet port and outlet port; The changeover valve [50] comprises a tubular housing extending along the filter unit near the first extremity thereof, and an internal displaceable tubular valve member. The air exchange backup unit [20] comprising a plurality of lunged segments [22a, b, c] serially linked to each other, forming a foldable arm. A first end [24] of the air exchange backup unit is swiveably attached to the electric motor [42] and a second end [26] of the air exchange backup unit carries a detachable hand crank [28]. Manual rotation of the hand crank [28] rotates the electric motor [42] at substantially a rated speed of the electric motor. The second end [26] of the air exchange backup unit is firmly attachable to a wall of the protection shelter at a convenient position for manual cranking of the hand crank [28]. Each of the building blocks of the NBC filtration system may be replaced with a block of different capacity without effecting the other blocks.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IRRADIATING AIR IN AN AIR CIRCULATION SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE
An apparatus for irradiating air flow in a vehicle includes a filter unit configured to couple to a recirculating-air conduit connected to a manifold of an air circulation system, the filter unit having an inlet end, and a filter disposed in the inlet end of the filter unit, including an outer wall of filter media having a shape that defines an interior volume of the filter. The apparatus further includes an ultraviolet light disposed on an end plate, configured to be mounted with the ultraviolet light positioned in the interior volume of the filter and the end plate against an open end of the filter. The ultraviolet light is configured to emit ultraviolet radiation substantially at between 222 nm and 265 nm for irradiating air flow through the filter into the air circulation system.
Incubator with air curtain
An incubator for cell and tissue culture under controlled atmospheric conditions has a primary air flow control device that forms a primary, preferably laminar flow, air veil across an opening that allows access to the cells or tissue cultures disposed within the incubator. Preferably, most if not all of the air in the primary (laminar flow) air veil is recirculated, and a secondary air flow control device is used that forms a secondary, preferably laminar flow, air veil between the primary (laminar flow) air veil and a user of the incubator.
ABSORPTION SYSTEM AND PROCESS WITH A FILTER UNIT FOR THE ABSORPTION OF GAS FROM A MEDICAL APPARATUS
An absorption system (100) and a process for absorption of gas from a medical apparatus (1) are provided. The absorption system includes a feed line (6), a discharge line (8), a filter unit (4) with a filter and at least one buffer storage device. The feed line establishes a fluid connection between the medical apparatus and the filter unit. The discharge line establishes a fluid connection between the filter unit and a fluid absorption unit (7). The gas is discharged from the medical apparatus and is passed through the feed line to the filter unit and from there through the discharge line to the fluid absorption unit. The filter filters at least one gas component out of the gas that is passed through the filter unit. The one or more buffer storage device absorbs and again discharges gas from time to time.
FILTER LIFE PREDICTION METHOD AND FILTER TYPE DETECTION METHOD
A method to predict the lifespan of an air filter including providing pressure sensors in a device having an air filter and a fan to drive air through the air filter, one pressure sensor located on an intake side of the fan and one pressure sensor located on an outflow side of the fan, periodically calculating a static pressure drop across the fan, storing the static pressure drop daily; calculating an average pressure drop, calculating a cumulative particle loading on the filter, comparing the cumulative particle loading with a pre-determined maximum particle loading for the filter, and determining if the filter needs to be changed is provided.
