CABIN AIR FILTER ELEMENT MONITORING AND ANALYSIS SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A filter element status analysis and notification system which includes a primary control unit, a filter element which filters cabin air of a vehicle and a sensor module provided on the filter element. The sensor module including a plurality of sensors, which sensors include at least a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor. The control system being operable to detect various filter element parameters and determine potential for microbial growth. The system then providing an alert to the user regarding the determined microbial growth potential.
EXHAUST PURIFICATION SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine comprises a filter trapping particulate matter in exhaust gas, a differential pressure sensor detecting a differential pressure before and after the filter or a differential pressure between a pressure in the exhaust passage and an atmospheric pressure, a temperature sensor detecting a temperature of exhaust gas, and a deposition calculating part configured to calculate an amount of particulate matter deposited at the filter. The deposition calculating part is configured to calculate a first estimated value of an amount of the particulate matter based on the differential pressure, calculate a second estimated value of an amount of the particulate matter based on an amount of increase of temperature of the exhaust gas, and calculate an amount of the particulate matter based on the first estimated value and the second estimated value.
HEPA AIR FILTRATION WITH AN AIR HANDLING SYSTEM
A HEPA/VOC air handling system is disclosed. It has a HEPA air filtration unit and an air handling unit. The HEPA air filtration unit has a fresh air intake, an inside air intake, a pre-filter unit, a HEPA air filter, and HEPA fan. The HEPA fan draws fresh air and inside air into a HEPA chamber to form combined air that moderates the fresh air toward the inside air's temperature and humidity to inhibit shocking or damaging the components in the HEPA air filtration unit. The combined air passes through the pre-filter unit and then the HEPA air filter to form HEPA filtered combined air. The air handling unit has a HEPA filtered combined air intake, a return air intake, an air handling device fan, and a supply outlet wherein the HEPA filtered combined air mixes with the return air to (A) form mixed air and (B) further moderate the HEPA filtered combined air toward the return air's temperature and humidity to inhibit shocking or damaging the components in the air handling device, and the rooms that receive the mixed air.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTEGRATING CHEMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SENSORS INTO AN AIR PURIFICATION FILTER THROUGH A REUSABLE SENSOR POST
A sensor device is disclosed for providing end of service life indication for an air purification filter. The sensor device has a cylindrical housing for insertion into a sorbent bed of a filter, and can be removed from the bed and reused at the end of the filter service. One or more sensors inside the housing are configured to sense physical/chemical characteristics of air passing through the sorbent bed, and to provide associated data to a sensor conditioning board within the housing. The sensor conditioning board processes the received data and conditions the data as desired. The housing is receivable in a cavity formed in the filter bed. A receiving structure receives the housing therein. Data from the one or more sensors can be used to calculate predicted end of service life of the filter. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Self-contained nitrogen generator
An apparatus and method for nitrogen production from compressed air. The apparatus is a portable compact unit including a compressed air input, a nitrogen generator configured to receive compressed air from a compressor through the compressed air input, a nitrogen storage vessel configured to store pressurized nitrogen, and a compressor failure monitor disposed between the compressed air input and the nitrogen generator. The compressor failure monitor can be in combination with an air dryer device, wherein the compressor failure monitor is configured to monitor a change in air pressure and/or air temperature at or from the air dryer, which can indicate compressor issues.
HYBRID VEHICLE
A filter temperature rising control is performed to set a target power of the engine within a range larger than a traveling power needed to travel and control an engine and a motor to travel based on the traveling power with output of the target power from the engine and power generation by the motor, when temperature rise of the filter is requested. The target power is set based on at least one of traveling power and engine temperature, when the filter temperature rising control is performed.
FIRE SAFETY DEVICE
Many people die each year from smoke inhalation due to residential fires. An enclosed space that provides clean and breathable air to people can save many lives when there is a fire and people are unable to escape. The device can be placed in a small and easily accessible space in a dwelling. The device recirculates and purifies air so that people can breathe while they wait for emergency responders.
Natural gas apparatus and method for in-situ processing
A natural gas processing system is mounted on at least one mobile platform that is transported to a natural gas source, such as a well. A liquid removal tank separates liquid contaminants from the gas. A particulate filter removes particulates from the gas. A membrane separates the natural gas into a retentate gas and a permeate gas. A gas compressor is selectively connected either upstream of the membrane or downstream of the membrane. For low pressure source gas, the upstream connection will compress the natural gas before entering the membrane. For high pressure source gas, the downstream connection will compress the natural gas after exiting the membrane. An electrical generator and an air compressor are provided. A process control is connected to all the valves in the system, all instruments, the gas compressor, the electrical generator, and the air compressor. The process control monitors and controls the natural gas processing system.
Vehicle and control method for vehicle
When a user requests start-up of an internal combustion engine while PM removal control is in execution or immediately after execution of the PM removal control is completed, an electronic control unit informs the user of the vehicle of a first alarm, so that the user recognizes that the internal combustion engine cannot be started up immediately. This makes it possible to suppress the discomfort caused because the internal combustion engine is not started up.
CONTROL DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND VEHICLE
An internal combustion engine comprises a filter and is configured to enable attachment of a secondary air feed system feeding air into exhaust gas flowing into the filter. A control device of the engine is configured, in the PM removal control for removing particulate matter deposited on the filter, to perform temperature raising processing for controlling the engine so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas discharged from the engine body 1 is a rich air-fuel ratio and for feeding air from the secondary air feed system, and to perform regeneration processing for controlling the engine so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas discharged from the engine body is a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and for feeding air from the secondary air feed system so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the filter is a lean air-fuel ratio.
